So what are we guessing now? I'm guessing Tool is for the older audience member. So who's rounding out the rest of the headliner tier?
Tool-Muse-Chance the Rapper
Tool-Muse-Twenty One Pilots
Tool-Muse-Mumford and Sons
Tool-Muse-Lorde
Any particular reason you have Muse for every guess?
I don't know why either. I do believe one NYC fest will have Muse but my money is on Panorama. Share one headliner with Hangout (Frank Ocean) and one with Firefly (Muse if that turns out correct)

With Radiohead, and most likely AF ruled out. Muse fits that Alt category for this fest. They've never played either. They said they're playing a few summer fests, so I'm guessing this one and Lolla. Panorama probably got Beyoncé for a package deal. So Beyoncé-Muse-Frank could happen, but seeing as Panorama is smaller I don't see them bringing out heavy booking like that in only its second year. Who knows, I'm just rolling with Muse until the big reveal.

Tool and Muse as the first two names makes no sense to me and none of your suggestions for a third lean towards an older demographic. I give all of your mocks a D+

Just also want to point out that by just having Tool play, you've already fulfilled the "Alt" category. If that's what you're going for.
I think Tool/ Jay Z/ 21p would make a lot of sense. But I'd prefer somebody else in that 3rd spot. I think Mumford is too big for number 3. KoL? LCD?
I don't see 21p being at govball. They just did 2 nights at MSG and are coming back next month for another arena show. June seems too soon for them to make it back to nyc.
I think a lot of people are going to show up because of Tool that wouldn't normally attend Gov Ball. I also think the fest is enough of a mainstay that a lot of those kids will show up regardless. Also bare in mind they have conflicting headliners. I am sure they will counter program Tool with an act that skews toward the younger crowd. Tool are great live and haven't played in NYC proper in forever. Itll be a really cool show; I am excited.
I'm excited though Maynard unfortunately isn't able to sing like he did back during their peak (not that I blame him, dude is turning 53 in 2017!) Hopefully they do some of the more rare songs they've been doing. Also, like you said, I'm sure there will be a hip-hop/EDM/pop-leaning act playing at the same time for the younger who crowd who, if it's a big enough name, will likely outdraw Tool at this festival.
just saw him at Voodoo, Maynard's voice is still amazing, I bet it's not the same as it was in the 90s but I never got the privilege to hear it in his prime. The only thing that sucks about a Tool show is no one shuts up when he's singing. When he sung with Puscifer I actually enjoyed it a little more cause you could actually hear him very clearly. That's why I'm excited to see how he sounds when he tours with A Perfect Circle, I feel the crowd will actually shut up more and it will be more intimate of a set. His voice is beautiful, and their visual show is trancendant to say the least.

The crown is definitely King Krule. His most popular song is called "Baby Blue" and it said something about "winter blues". They text is part of the clue too, not just the photo
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief

Isn't he playing Primavera that same weekend?
Last year Vince Staples and Action Bronson were on both lineups

so is schoolboy q 2nd line at this? i always have trouble gauging how big he is.
He was the sub-headliner for Kendrick at ACL and there was a huge crowd from him even though he was up against Cage The Elephant and The Chainsmokers, so he's definitely blown up after that last album.

I feel like Schoolboy has blown up largely because of That Part. Not that I mind, I think he's dope and Blank Face is one of the better hip-hop releases this year.
