I definitely see a lot that I like, I'm just perplexed by the billing. How is Phoenix now a top 3 act? And how is Lorde billed fifth, when she's got a bigger draw that every act listed before her except for Tool?
Royal Blood returning so soon is interesting to me, they must be working on new music.
I'd imagine they will be. They released a video on their social media account a few weeks back teasing something in 2017. Looking forward to where else they'll be playing this summer.
Isn't it a little odd to, in an 8 month span, to bump a sub-headliner at a smaller-scale festival to a headliner at a larger festival.
Run by the same people, in the same market, with no new album released in between.
His popularity has exploded in that time. Honestly, he could have even headlined the Meadows. They just got lucky and booked him before the album came out. Now hes even bigger and even more people want to see him. Makes sense to book an artist when they are white hot.

Damn I am so freaking excited for this.
Didn't you say this lineup would draw an older crowd? I don't see that at all. Other than Tool this is very young. Also I think Tool sticks out on this lineup even more than PJ and The Dead did last year. It's Tool and a whole bunch of rap, electronic and pop. It's not a bad lineup, these are just my observations. I'm noticing that all of these lineups are really lacking in rock music. I like some electronic, a lot more than I use to, but I think if I went to this I'd definitely be missing the guitars.

I see that more with Coachella than with this lineup. Tool/Phoenix/Mac Demarco/Local Natives/Royal Blood/The Orwells are all solid acts that I would enjoy. Cage puts on a better show than they get credit for on here, and there are multiple hip-hop & electronic acts I enjoy on this lineup.
With all that said, I'm pretty sure I will prefer Shaky Knees lineup next week compared to this.

The point is to cater to as many people and demos as possible. To put something together that everyone can enjoy. Not just one age group.
I am 30 now. I think Tool, Phoenix, Avalanches, Air, and Wu really appeal to me. Those were all acts I was listening to 10 years ago. I dont care about Marshmello or Wiz or the cheesy stuff. Those acts are not meant for me. Not every act on every festival lineup is supposed to cater to specifically you.
What I always loved about fests in general is the diversity.. Tool Lorde Wu and Avalanches all on one lineup.. Thats really cool to me. I am a music lover and not as hard to please as most on here. I can usually find something redeeming about almost anything and figure out a way to have fun. Thats what these events are really about. Just having fun. Jumping between genres and demographic to make one awesome melting pot never gets old to me.

I'm the same way. I can find 20-30 things I would like to see on pretty much any lineup. Bonnaroo and Coachella I can find 40-50 (even last year). I definitely like the variety but there seems to be less of it these days. Tool just doesn't fit the lineup and I'd like more rock. I do like the specialty fest like Shaky Knees though, they don't have very much variety but it's cool.

I said I wouldn't go back, but it feels good being wrong in this case. If BC doesn't manage to get some crossover, hopefully I can catch a day of Mark Ronson vs Kev, Air, and The Avalanches.

Launchpad McQuack are single days going to be happening again? i prob won't be able to afford all three days after coach but there are quite few acts on here id love to see (bino, wu tang, Ronson vs Parker) that i would probably spend a single day ticket on if they ended up being the same day.
