Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Thanks, I will! I've got lots of questions but I'm sure I can answer a lot of them with google. I've made a playlist of my favorite acts here and I'm feeling this so much more than the Bonnaroo one I made! I'm sad to miss a year on The Farm but this already feels like the better decision.
Who are you most excited to see?
Well first off, the only acts I'm excited for that I've already seen are Flume, Gambino, (both at Roo'15) and Lorde (Pure Heroine tour), so everything else will be my first time seeing them which adds more excitement! But I'm really looking forward to Phoenix, especially with their new album coming out. I was a big fan of Bankrupt! so I have high hopes. Also definitely really excited to see Lorde again. Other big ones for me are Chance, Air, The Avalanches, Beach House, Schoolboy Q, and Danny Brown! Also, I really liked the new Gambino album so that could be interesting. Lots of other smaller fun names that I'm into as wel. I'll admit that I don't know much of Tool (and neither does Spotify for some reason) but I've heard great things so I'll wanna try to see them too. Haha.. sorry for the dissertation. What about you?

Agreed with all of the above. Air and Avalanches are probably tied at #1 for me because I have waited for nearly a decade to catch each. Always love Phoenix (Alphabetical is one of my personal all time favorite albums). I think Gambino's show is going to be unlike any other time I have seen him. His Pharos performance looked insane; and I absolutely love Awaken My Love. I have not seen Tool in a million years so I am pretty excited about that. I think Ronson vs Parker is going to be a fun as hell dance party. I am really interested in seeing Lorde. I have also been pretty addicted to Francis and the Lights for the past few months (my best friend and I have been perfecting the dance moves from the Friends music video, much to the horror of his significant other). Zane Lowe should be cool.
Other than that just a bunch of stuff I have seen before but are always a fun time. Chance in a headlining slot is cool, Beach House, Skepta, Car Seat Headrest, Royal Blood, Charles Bradley, Rufus, The Range (watch his documentary, itll make you a fan), Phantogram, Flume, Local Natives, a bunch of my female friends are insanely excited for Kehlani. So pretty much everything lol (except Marshmello). I really think this is one of the best lineups this fest has ever had.
I don't think a festival of their size can ever top Govball 2014.
Yeah 2014 was undisputedly the best one ever. 2015 was very cool too (Bjork, MMJ, Ryan Adams, Noel Gallagher, and Hot Chip were so good)
2013 had a great undercard. Nas, Grizzly Bear, The xx, Feist, Kendrick Lamar, Beach House, Animal Collective, Cut Copy, Local Natives, Death From Above 1979, Dirty Projectors, Portugal. The Man, Japandroids, Divine Fits, Deerhunter, Wild Nothing, Haim.

True. Maybe just agree Gov Ball is almost always a great time lol (unless it rains uncontrollably)

2013 and 2014 were such amazing lineups (2015 was a bit "meh" for me). Still bummed Sun of 2016 was cancelled.

I'll check out that documentary! I'm looking forward to most of what you mentioned as well. I haven't dug into the acts I'm not too familiar with yet. Cage, Phantogram, Banks, Local Natives, Mac Demarco, Rufus, Warpaint, Car Seat Headrest, & Skepta should all be a lot of fun. I know who Kevin Parker is but not Mark Ronson so I don't know what to expect there, but barring conflicts I'd definitely check it out!

Yeah, that was a bummer. I was looking forward to Kanye/Death Cab, Two Door Cinema Club, Courtney Barnett, Eagles of Death Metal, Fidlar, and Day Wave.

Yeah going for one day and being able to catch Hot Chip and Tame Impala was awesome. Couldve only been better if FlyLo and Hot Chip didnt conflict (which was a very tough decision but I had seen FlyLo before at that point).

So for the locals or people who have attended GB before. Strongly considering this festival. How is the area safety wise? What hotels or hostels are the best options? I am training it from upstate NY, so it'll only be roughly a 7 hour train ride.

Hi Hostel is only about 22 min from Randall's Island by car/uber. It's only 40 ish minutes by a train station that runs every 20 min or so. This lineup pretty much has everything I was looking for this year, except St. Vincent, National, xx, and Death Grips. Also, I can book hostel now and pay later. 50 bucks a night? For say 4 nights if I get in by Thurs morning. Hot damn! The ticket, plus hostel fees, train fees from Rochester NY to NYC, and some spending money. This trip will cost less than Roo, which I had high hopes for....but shiiiiiit no thanks.
It is a bit of a pain. If I am taking the ferry or a shuttle I usually look at the setlist for headliners in advanced; and the second they start playing the last song, I use it as exit music, and start making my way to the pick up point.
I have also found walking the bridge and then calling for an uber once you are on the otherside to be a solid method.

Getting off I'm not too worried about (wait for it...) because once the shows are done I don't mind sitting around for a little while, talking about the day. Always do that at Osheaga, too!

Getting on isn't a problem. In fact, I'm always excited to make the walk across the Triboro Bridge because of the anticipation of getting into the festival grounds. When you get like halfway over the bridge you can start to see into the park, see the main stage, see the ferries coming up the East River and dropping people off, it just builds the anticipation. I love the walk over.
Afterwards, the best bet is to take the shuttle bus back to 125th st. Because as much as you like to unwind, the walk is anything but that. I think after the Strokes last year me and my friends waited about an hour to GET ON the bridge.

Where do you usually stay? Im trying to avoid Manhattan and hopefully stay east of the island somewhere I'ver never been.
I really, really want to make this happen. It's all about convincing the lady now..

I would stay in Williamsburg in BK. Especially if you don't want to stay in Manhattan. You can take the shuttle in everyday. A lot of the after shows take place very close to where they drop off. The food and nightlife around there is great.

Long Island City, near Queensboro Bridge. Walk to the bridge where you take a subway over to 3rd ave, then the 4/5/6 all the way up to 125th. Simple as pie.

Williamsburg is just an awesome area in general, second this.
