Didn't have a ton to be excited for yesterday but Gambino was pure magic.
Stormzy was great, as was local natives. would like to see that show in full darkness. Watched Rae Sremmurd from the hill, that crowd was MASSIVE and insane.
Marshmello was horrendous. Only thing that made me feel better was when he said "thank you to everyone who has supported me the last 2 year's. you guys changed my life." At least he acknowledges that he is fleecing millions of people.
Lo Moon was amazing, bummed I only caught the last 15 minutes.
Great day. I think the average age for the Phoenix set was probably 10 years older than for the rest of the show, and it was great
Agree same for head and heart
The Phoenix crowd in size and characteristics was just like the Chance crowd. Only the exact opposite
Haha...I had never seen Gambino before and he put on amazing performance (prob my fave of the weekend) but I couldn't believe the size of the crowd (and lack thereof at Phoenix).
Didn't we know Gambino would outdraw Phoenix? It's 2017. Indie pop isn't doing so hot. Especially for a band that played the festival 3 years ago and have only released a handful of songs since. I get Gambino played that year too but he also released a radically different sounding album to high acclaim

I think a lot of people just left early yesterday. I was able to do half and half (thanks to Phoenix's bizarre setlist), and when I got to Gambino around 10 I was able to walk right up to the sound board. I thought both of them were crazy good though. That being said, and this might be an unpopular opinion the set that is sticking out for me from yesterday is Local Natives, it was my 4th time seeing them, and I don't know why, but overtime I see them they strike a place in my so hard that I just love. There's maybe 3 other bands period that get me jazzed up like they do. They're just so tight live.
On a totally different note, I started my day with Jessie Reyez, and her song Shutter Island is dope as fuck. If that was Rihanna singing it it would be the song of the summer. I highly recommend checking her out . I think she is gonna get big.
Set rankings 1) Local Natives 2)Phoenix/Gambino (Tie) 4) Car Seat Headrest 5)Wu Tang 6)Jessie Reyez 7)Kevin Parker Vs Mark Ronson 8)The Head and The Heart 9)Saint Motel 10) Lo Moon 11) A R I Z O N A
I am SO excited today I've been waiting to see Royal Blood today, I saw them back in 2014 at the Underground Arts Black Box (a 200 person room) and am so proud of those guys they're so quacking good. Also I've wanted to see Air for a long time. Look for my sylvan esso hat, I'd love to meet some of y'all.

Local natives was my#1 too. After I saw them in Toronto a few months ago I knew I had to see them again

It was my intention to leave Phoenix for Gambino too after that first run of hits, but I just couldn't walk away from Phoenix
