Wow, they still plan to do multiple waves this year. Means we might not be getting every headliner on Thursday. Also probably means that we are going to have to wait for the Coachella drop for certain acts.
Wave 2 will most likely be Aquachobee and Jungle 51 with a couple more main acts added.
Arcade Fire - Tame Impala - Chance The Rapper - The Chainsmokers - The Lumineers - Flume
That is a major step down from last year. Especially from a festival that boasts being serious competition with the major festivals. Most of the artists aren't bad but Arcade Fire is the only actual headliner of those. Tame and Chance are borderline but last year they had actual headliners and some borderline artists

I'd be a little sad if this is the best they can do, but I wouldn't be outright shocked.

Pretty disappointed to be honest. I thought there would be at least one exciting wild card in the top couple lines. This was pretty much what we thought from day one, just that there was another headliner in there.
I'm guessing they got someone else too top the lineup, because honestly Arcade Fire is a great #2 but such a downgrade from Mumford as far as headliners go. And I think we're all pretty certain they care about ticket sales, so i'm guessing they have something up their sleeves for #1.

I personally like the headliners. The rest of the lineup is shit.
I like the headliners, but I thought they could do better than Tame Impala as the #2. As in, I would think they could say book as mentioned the Killers #2 and have Tame Impala #4 or #5.
But what's really scary is that you said the scoop was from August. So it's likely that was before Arcade Fire dropped out? If so, then they may have been replaced with a bad act.
I'll probably be going because I love all three of those headliners. I'm surprised they didn't get an EDM act in their top three, but that doesn't matter at all to me.

If it's Kings of Leon - Tame Impala - Chance the Rapper, I'll be speechless in horrific shock. I have zero use for KoL, minimal interest in Chance and while I would look forward to Tame Imapala... I could just have never thought that would be the lone *headliner* I'd have interest in. I'd seriously contemplate canceling my plans to go.

Me too. heres the two posts from this thread that hint at them having some sort of complications
The guy on reddit who said AF was out said his source was inforoo. I don't remember anyone ever saying that here but I could be wrong
That came from me. I said AF is pending, but may not work out. Not sure if they're definitively out or not at this time as I haven't had another opportunity to talk to the contact I received this information from.
"Son of a Beek" who claims Arcade Fire is booked says he received his info around August. These above posts were mid August and September, respectively, and so maybe they worked it out in late August sometime?
