I have no definite information but this year I was the street team leader for the Tampa area and ended up working with and becoming friends with a lot of the people who run this festival. It was a good gig I got 2 VIP bands and 1 GA for doing it. With that said I had a conversation with one of the guys in booking and he told me they plan to expand the 30K capacity heavily and the lineup will be much "bigger" this year. He also hinted at an October announcement.
I think they hinted at an update in September. I hope so, because I want to get in my vacation time as early as possible. We will have like a dozen cars coming down from all over the north east. I think we will stay in Myrtle Beach on the way down and then go to Daytona Beach or something else on the way back up. I'm taking off like almost 2 weeks wrapped around then event as a spring break type vacation. If anyone wants to join in with us let me know.

Im defnitely considering going based on dates. I would be leaving from Jersey
Weighing flying to Orlando and renting a car to Okechobee or just driving all the way from NC. Leanining flying since I'm already planning PTO for coachella, and driving the entire way would cost me an extra couple of days. Is this like Roo where you can show up Wednesday or do the gates not open until Thursday? Can't remember from last year.

Last year it was originally a 3 day fest with them adding Thursday really close to the festival. We were there at 9 AM Thursday last year but with them now being prepared I could see them opening the gates Wednesday night.

I bet they'll try to utilize their stages or have some form of live music this year on Thursday

I thought they did have live music this year on Thursday... or what that on that beach stage thing only?

There was only music in the Chobeewobeevillage so the beach stage and the Jungle stage. This year I'd be surprised if they didn't utilize the three main stages as well.

If they really are gonna be expanding the lineup and raising attendance numbers, then it would only make sense to open the campgrounds Wednesday and have the main stages start up on Thursday.

They did seem to indicate they were "stepping up" to be a major player. Radiohead would certainly do that. Add Thursday acts. Things are looking good. They follow three artists but Chance doesn't have the feel of a third headliner... right? Maybe he has elevated that high at this point. And if Radiohead and Arcade Fire are 1 and 2, Chance could then make sense as the rap act and final headliner.
