A couple of there recent social media posts have included "don't say we didn't warn you" and now they just tweeted that Dec 5th is the end of early bird. Wonder if we can expect a few additions next week ?
Or maybe their social media pages are trying to promote their festival.
Haha, must have missed the kids bop with Staralfur on it. Really though, I probably think Okeechobee is better overall, but I'm a lot more passionate about the bands at Hangout that I'd actually wanna seething I am about the ones at Okeechobee. Though 2/3 of the headliners are pretty bad/boring for both of them. Though it's hard robe more appalling than having 21 as a headlkner

Kings of Leon is an eyesore but I think I'd still take Okeechobee. We'll see what else is added, in the end I think Okeechobee will have the better lineup. I'm thinking several acts on the Hangout lineup will be at Okeechobee (that aren't already listed) anyway.

Haha. You know it. It was more a play on the ages (or newness) of the acts for the most part on Hangout's lineup. Outside of Weezer, Shaggy and Sigur Ros, I don't think there is any other act (at least that I know) that goes back to 1999, and many are 20-teens acts. Not hating.
As far as the lineup comparison, I'd have to dig into those bottom 3 or 4 lines of Hangout's lineup because there are only 3 or 4 names I know down there. Like Hangout, Okee also has a bunch of stuff I have no interest in. But they have more acts (even though I've seen them all) in Phase I that I actually like than the entirety of Hangout's lineup where I know about half and like under half of that again.
I'm new to this whole festival game. If an act just got announced for Hangout, does that affect their ability to do other fests? I'd feel pretty lame if I set my expectations at Chance for a rap headliner and got Wiz Khalifa.

In some cases, but Chance playing Hangout does not rule out Chance playing Okeechobee. If that's what you're contemplating.
Anyone happen to know if their will be quite a few more bands or only a few? Thanks!
Last year had a total of something close to 120 billed acts if you include all the venues (Jungle 51, Aquachobee, and The Grove). So far we've got about 70. That would leave us with about 50 if they keep the same number of acts as last year. How big those acts are is anyone's guess.
However, someone on reddit hinted that the announcements this year might be different from last year. Instead of formal "waves" or "phases" we might get artists announced in bits and pieces - presumably as they're contractually allowed to in some cases. Even last year you had decent billed guys like Mac Miller announced a month out from the festival. I'd say we still have a good amount of waiting to do for the full lineup.

Wiz is the Mac Miller of this years line up. I'm hoping/guessing there will be one or two more major rap Headliners to be announced. I think the hold up is Coachella

Last year final adds were Bassnectar, Avetts, Odesza, Kill the Noise, Lil Dickie, Nahko, Lettuce and others. No giant rappers on the 2016 final adds, but Chance breaks after his Oceana tour and does 2 nights in Hawaii in early January and has nothing else showing until Hangout. So there's a fair shot.
I honestly don't think Okeechobee has anything else majorly planned. I'm still going and I'm sure it's going to be a blast, but it doesn't seem like they want to wow us with the lineup this year. It's a good lineup, and they'll sell tons of tickets, but I think the days of trying to compete with Bonnaroo and Coachella are far over and this years lineup reflects that.
Will definitely be going back this year and pretty sure wave two will add some solid acts to the lineup. For me, Okee 2016 was the best festival experience I have ever had. Like Bonnaroo (IMO), the lineup really doesn't matter that much when you consider the people, the atmosphere, and the non-musical activities.
Also, to clear the security thing up: No, it wasn't bad at all, especially the initial entrance car checks. For those of you that didn't go last year I really recommend giving it a fair chance.
Heard there was for sure a sketch factor from multiple people though obviously not at a super extreme level (old Hangout fests). I got a ticket regardless but I don't know if I'm going or not.

I remember reading about some "in house jail" and that they had drug dogs running around the campsites or something. It seemed kind of blown out of proportion though.
Never the less I'll be there. I'm excited to check it out.

Yeah, that wasn't a thing. They had a little processing trailer for people that had been arrested and were being booked. No dogs running around. I talked to a group of sheriff's deputies while clearly under the influence and was given water and told to stay safe. People are crazy in what they'll make up.

Yea there were I think almost 100 arrests but this is fucking Florida were talking about.

Except Palm Beach Post had that article....and CBS. Luckily a bunch of those arrests were thrown out due to lack of probable cause to search. So some people's lives were not ruined for safety (profit). It was a small amount of the 30,000 (70 or 80) which isn't bad per se. But it's still sketchy.
