Yeah, that wasn't a thing. They had a little processing trailer for people that had been arrested and were being booked. No dogs running around. I talked to a group of sheriff's deputies while clearly under the influence and was given water and told to stay safe. People are crazy in what they'll make up.
Yea there were I think almost 100 arrests but this is fucking Florida were talking about.

Except Palm Beach Post had that article....and CBS. Luckily a bunch of those arrests were thrown out due to lack of probable cause to search. So some people's lives were not ruined for safety (profit). It was a small amount of the 30,000 (70 or 80) which isn't bad per se. But it's still sketchy.
70 people is not an absurd amount considering we're talking a music festival of 30k+ in Okeechobee, FL. I camp with more people than that at Bonnaroo lol And if I'm drawing that comparison I will let anyone who wasn't there this year know that the law enforcement/security is MUCH tighter at Roo than Okee.
I hear you kd. I wasn't trying to overplay the sketch factor, but about 10 of one of my kid's crew were last year and did report on it being at least somewhat dicey. We never had any trouble at Bonnaroo where there is obviously a much bigger sketch factor. Hangout 2012 and 2013 were the worst I've experienced, though some people here in NOLA have personally reported their worst experiences being at Spirit of Suwannee. I like the hippie side of what Wakarusa was. There was 0% sketch the 2 years we went. And that's kind of the benchmark of 0 on a 0-100 scale. Of course Arkansas' finest are out on the highways much like Tennessee's are leading up to Bonnaroo. But once on the mountain....

The whole jailhouse thing comes from there literally being a jail a less then a mile from the entrance of the fest. There were definetly dogs on site too if you read any of the articles about the arrest it includes that most were caught from unlawful dog searches hence why most of the charges were dropped. Other then that though security was a breeze. The Car search they just looked inside my trunk and didn't touch a thing. We were only suppose to have two cases of beer but there were five of them visible and they didn't care. Entrance into the fest from the campgrounds was a joke I walked in with two drinks in my hand everytime and security would make a joke and cheer it on.

Yeah I think the dog stories were all coming from the entrances/sites at the front of the ranch. I didn't see a single dog anywhere and I even had media access to some "secret portals" lol I do think they'll be more thorough next year based on the disappointment of having to drop most of the drug charges this year.

Got an answer on what's taking so long for phase two! A big name booking fell through the cracks last minute, they are looking for a big name replacement before announcing phase 2. I'm pretty sure Roo had a similar situation a few years back when Prince backed out and Billy Joel filled in.

That was more dreaming with speculation then anything. Not once did I confirm they were going. Yeah I made valid pointers on why I think they might go but I think everyone is entitled to share that. Let a guy dream alil. Any ways that was then this is now, You can take it for what you want but I can tell you this is coming from a very reliable source. The same source on Reddit that actually confirmed KOL, Flume and The Lumineers way before any announcement was made, now says phase two is delayed due to a big fall through booking.

Not trying to be a dick, but it was hard not to judge the person who speculated the Stones, Roger Waters, RHCP (after they were ruled out), and some "out of left field" headliners before the lineup was dropped.

They made it clear that we shouldn't expect phases like last year, and it's my impression that they're trying to cut costs and make a better profit this year...So why should I expect big names coming to this lineup? I'd love to be wrong, but I doubt I am.
Yeah. You're probably right. But if they put some quality shit in the mid I'll still be okay with it. I haven't decided if I'm going or selling my ticket yet. Half of me wants to go and party down there, especially after getting a late season festival taste this past weekend which aggravated my festival crack addiction.. I'm not sure there is any particular artist that would specifically sway me to go, so it's gonna be how bad I want to go the same week as Mardi Gras and the weekend before Buku fest. I'll probably make my decision in early February.

Yeah. I love South Florida (and N FL). I was over in Cocoa, Titusville, Mims (Bevard Co.) earlier this year and had 2 trips to Orlando metro a few months back. Some of our family went last year and loved it, and I don't mind camping at all. I'll look at finances after the new year. I have my ticket so it's really about travel time, blasting through vacation days that early in the year and expenses. I have to buy a new car and I have a wedding to attend in Mexico in July. If I can organize shit right, l'll go. I'm glad I'm down to the last few xmas presents, and those are all bottles.
