What's the point of a 2nd wave when the fest is weeks away? Especially with line ups dropping, potential ticket buyers are going to make other decisions.

So the second phase, the third phase, the daily schedule, and the actual schedule are all going to be released in the next 6 weeks? And the daily schedule is over month away? So when does the actual schedule come out? Are they handing it to us on the drive in? Jesus.

i think thats just poor wording on their part. i'm assuming "daily schedule" = the schedule with times/stages/etc.
i don't see them releasing a day-by-day breakdown & then waiting to give us times/stages

Hey, I'm not trying to be hard-ass correct guy, but it's like 8 weeks.

Ah yeah, I thought I saw somewhere it was 6 weeks away and just sort of ran with it.
At this point, what would be some reasons they haven't announced any additions yet? I'm not familiar with the "rules" on conflicts with other festivals - is it only certain festivals that have that effect? and only with a certain tier of acts? Is that even known info?

I messaged them and they said they weren't releasing a phase 2 and people shouldn't expect them to do the same thing as last year, but they will have some more artist additions. I'm guessing 1-2 average size names and the aquabeach and jungle 51 artists. Plus if you look they have 72 artists already. That's 10 more than last year.

Out of the 72 currently announced artists quite a few are playing the Jungle and Aquachobee.

ahhh then a second phase doesn't seem to crazy
Completely get where you're coming from, though. A lot of the times when people ask them for a phase 2 (on twitter mostly) they sidestep the question and say "artist additions" rather than phase 2. But then at the same time they've said phase 2 a few times too. Kinda confusing

Just wondering, do you know this for a fact or just making assumptions based off names?
Seems like this artist additions should be coming by Thursday. If not then I don't know what is going on lol
Thursday would be my best guess. They won't release it tomorrow because of Roo and you wouldn't think they'd tease the additions then not release them soon after.

I just hope it isn't a bunch of mostly uninspiring EDM and rap. Could totally see phase 2 being like Marshmello, Nghtmare, Asap Ferg, Charlie XCX, Andrew McMahon, What So Not, SNBRN.
Probably not well. I bought my tickets and I'll be there, but I'm guessing people aren't happy that they gave us a far less superior lineup than last year. I'm guessing that's why Peck and Co left. It's always the same ol' game; Big headed producers think they can cash in on giving people a shitty product, with the promise of vibes and a free place to do sandy things, but the general public doesn't want a shitty product, so they don't buy tickets. There's only so many people who will go to a festival just for the vibes, and I think Roo showed that last year with its drop in attendance.

i don't know if I'd be able to resist killing myself long enough to sell my ticket
Somebody on Reddit says they have Chance confirmed by a reliable source. Read into that what you will.
If that's true, it makes buying presale much more palatable for me. A long weekend away from responsibilities with the missus, Paak, Chance, Solange, and The Roots within driving distance of my house would be a good time.
Might even get into a pit with the Bros for a grimy EDM/Trap set or two. Not terrible. Could be worse.

I thought it would be obvious they would have gotten Chance, and I thought he'd be first wave announcement. But he's a good add later on. He has a lot of crossover appeal to a diverse group.

I'm getting bombarded with digital banner ads for Okeechobee everywhere I go (here, reddit, youtube, music sites), which leads me to believe that this year they are either really underselling or that they spent a lot of the second and third wave budget on marketing.
Either way, it's a shame because this thing was so promising, but it's not surprising seeing the 'roo lineup. I've given up any and all hope that we'll get a RobertPlant/Hall&Oates caliber phase.

I actually really like the mid/undercard on this. It's just that top line that leave a lot to be desired. If you add Chance and some other solids act that would be placed relatively high, this will look a lot better. Hell, a great phase 2 could make this one of the better lineups out there for it's size, never mind the Kings of Leon eyesore.

While certainly geared toward a decidedly young crowd, for the $240 I paid, I would get my money's worth on the ticket from initial lineup - mostly from the middle of the lineup:
Usher and the Roots
Bassnectar
Wiz (I know people hate on him, but I don't)
Pretty Lights Live Band (Chris Karns, Borahm Lee, Alvin Ford, Jr., etc.) <--- GREAT on NYE
Porter Live
Anderson.Paak & TFN
GRiZ
Revivalists
Mac Demarco
SNAILS
Waka Flocka Flame
Sleigh Bells
Taxi
badbadnotgood
Joey Purp (don't know much about him, but I would pass by that)
Parliament-Funkadelic
Blind Boys of Alabama
Ott
Con Brio
Kaiydo
Rainbow Kitten
Tauk
Perpetual Groove
Hopefully with Chance the Rapper and others yet to be added, they will have some impressive adds making it harder to say no to.
