Your wristband has shipped. -------------------------- My oldest who went last year is trying to get my 4-day on credit if he and his people end up going again this year which they want to do. I gave him 4-5 days to figure it out.

Highly recommend this festival to anyone considering!!! Zero crowding, excellent vibe, and the 3 distinctive areas (3 stages, beach, jungle) make it a surefire win. You kicked yourself for missing it last year Steve!
Loving the schedule:-) No longer 24 hours, but 6am-noon is really deadtime anyway. Really my only conflict is Saturday night, which is to be expected anyway. The 3 stages are so close it is very easy to bounce around if you are wanting a change (I will hit all 6 stage acts for at least a little while personally).
If it weren't for Tauk I might consider missing Thursday, but with GA it is usually best to get there earlier anyway. Though with the size of this festival there really isn't a bad spot to be had, many of the GA spots were closer than VIP last year. The beach is just a fun place to hang out regardless. Very few people were even near the beach artist, just chilling along the shore or in the water during the day with the speakers blasting over the whole area.
Friday has Polyenso starting things off early at the beach even if the other unknowns (to me) aren't any good, beach is actually good all day. 12th planet to Perpetual Groove, plenty of good wandering, then finishing stages with bouncing around 3 great choices. And dancing til dawn in the jungle.
Start off Saturday with another fun beach party set of acts. Pfunk at freaking 2 in the afternoon. Floozies, Griz. And the aforementioned excellent closing cast, I ALWAYS have fun dancing to Bassnectar, Sturgill is brilliant (Turtles all the way down is one of the best songs ever written), and Porter will probably consume most of my time. Then dancing til dawn in the jungle.
And a glorious last day, so much perfect Sunday music. Start things off with Bipolar Sunshine, soul, gospel, reggae, rock, Ganja White Night, Pretty Lights (hopefully Derek is lucid), and OH MY THANK GOODNESS Nightmares on Wax as the perfect alternative to Kings of Leon. Then of course dancing in the jungle as long as I can before the 12 hour drive home.
Hey bill, yeah I know. I think Everett is going with his friends but he has 3 more days to let me know. Hit me up if you find your way down to New Orleans this year.
So they released the Yogachobee and Chobeewobee Village schedules...Is there anything I should keep my eye out for on this? I'm open to anything cool or fun.
It is our extreme pleasure to announce both the return and expansion of ChobeeWobee Village, the cultural center of Okee. The yin to The Grove's Yang, ChobeeWobee Village is a place to mingle, wander, explore, stretch, relax, engage, discover and connect amongst a myriad of carefully crafted curiosities. This awe-inspiring Village is home to Yogachobee, The Earth Arts Academy, The Healing Sanctuary, The Make Art Shrine Workshops, a brand new Incendia stage, the Pavilion Palace Stage, The Jive Joint, Halcyon vinyl shop and stage and the return of the much-loved, newly named, Luscious Land Tea Lounge.
ChobeeWobee Village is where you will find roving performers, take part in rogue parades, discover immersive art installations and go down the rabbit hole of mysterious late night happenings...and don't miss Android Jones' interactive Microdose VR projections on our pond nebula! Come and stumble (hahaha) upon our arts, crafts, and non-profits agora - a vibrant market where trinkets, accessories, clothes and world saving ideas are abundant for all who seek them. ChobeeWobee Village is here for you day and night. We encourage you to activate your sense and sense of adventure and come and explore. (There is a link to the ChobeeWobee Village Schedule and also Yogachobee schedule). THen they have 1 can = 1 meal (your donation will help feed a family in need in the local community). "This year in partnership with our friends at Treasure Coast Food Bank, we're introducing a food drive in Sunshine Grove. How does it work? Bring an extra can of food or leave any cans you don't eat in one of our collection bins and they will go towards feeding a family in need in our local community. You'll find collection bins throughout the campsites and entrances to The Grove.

It looks like a ton of shows and artists, but what's cool or not is tough to guess. Sorne: Echoes of the Human Dream might be cool. I'm not a fan of MZG, but if you like Disco, they're good for that. There's an Open Mic show on Friday at 6:00, so that'll probably suck. Hahaha. Ployd on Sunday at 6:30am isn't bad, I've seen him a few times and I think Elev8 is friends with him. They also have lots of totem making workshops, so if you want to learn how to carve and possibly paint a totem as a token item, that might be cool. Otherwise it's just a bunch of funky stuff and dj's.

Sounds like it should be a good time for filler if need be. Thanks for the response, man!
After seeing that atrocious Wayhome lineup, I feel like we have a pretty great lineup as far as mid-tier fests go. It's not perfect, but one of the best ones this year.

Definitely. Given that Solange, Flume, and Wiz Khalifa have appeared on other lineups as headliners it's now much more understandable why we have the top line we do here.

Bringing back Bassnectar and promoting him to headline for no real reason is still really off-putting.
Dropping the unique and interesting Top 10-15 legacy acts was really disappointing as well. Could have been a unique staple for this fest.
Other than that - yes this lineup does look a lot better after seeing everything else. Usher + the Roots for 2 and a half hours is pretty enviable now. I would love that act to be one of the 5 Firefly headliners.

That's the other thing that sucks... Usher + Roots/Powow/Sturgill Simpson/Porter Robinson all around the same time Saturday night. I have no idea how I'm going to resolved that conflict. That was probably 4 of my top 5 that I wanted to see, at least from the top lines.
Maps were released today! Looks pretty great if you ask me. Just wondering tho, if anybody who went last year can chime in...If me and the groop plan on arriving around 10am on Thursday morning and go through Portal 1, where can we expect to camp? Where did you guys camp last year and what time did you arrive? Thanks in advance!

From everything I've read it's really tough to gauge where you'll end up. It seems like they go front to back in a circlular pattern around the Grove. So you'll definitely be closer the earlier you arrive, but it's up in the air what section you'll be in. If that makes sense.
That sounds really great. Still hoping we get a close spot coming in on Thursday afternoon. I heard last year they started letting people in at 9am. Also, anybody else into Beans on Toast? This guy is playing the Tea Lounge all weekend and his music is wonderful.

My group is probably going in at 1/2PM on Thurs. I'd rather not be snug up to Jungle 51 or the Incendia stage. Aside from that, I'm not really concerned as long as it's not a super long walk. Which it would seem like wouldn't happen if you come Thursday.

Do you face pat downs before getting to any of the stages? Are there any smaller stages that are outside the security gates? Just wondering if there's any smaller stages that are out in the campgrounds that I can walk up to with a beer without worrying about having to toss it

The Jungle and Beach stage are outside the grove (the three main stages) and in the village/campground area. Honestly security is so lax at this festival you can walk into the main areas with beer.
There is a chance they change it up in regards to Moonlight Oasis (where the Beach and Jungle and other areas live). Last year there were no true gates around this area, so keep in mind that this info is just based off last year and they might add gates. The only security I ever saw was at gates.
Beach and all the other random areas you are perfectly fine with your own. Don't recall any coolers, but I was always walking around with my own beer each of the 3 days (and imagine a cooler would have even been fine). Jungle did have a basic no beers thing entering, but it was just if something was in your hand (I never saw them pat down). Just have an unopened in your pocket and you are good. (I personally only wear cargo shorts and just put my open beer in my holster pockets once I got close).
Grove (where the 3 stages are) was different. They were patting down every single time I entered (there were 3 entrances and I used 2 of them). But it varied as to how deep they went. Normally I get through any gate just putting beer in my back pockets. A guy checking will rarely grab your ass (I avoid women doing pat downs for this reason, and always watch their methods before entering to verify). But one day a guy was really getting into it and I had to crotch it to get through (brings true meeting to the term "cold as balls").
But hell, even if you get caught with beer at a gate (it has only happened to me 4 times in all my years) you can usually just stand off to the side and pretend to drink it or toss it in a trashcan then walk right in with it (success 3 out of the 4).
I just treat the whole thing as a game. Twice I walked up and just put my hands up in the air while holding an open beer (I was just going to chug it if needed). They patted down my pockets then let me right in (as I was laughing). Don't show emotion, if you don't look sketchy or worried they are put at ease.
I will add to be smart driving through the gates. I am GA this year, but was VIP and RV last year due to friends. I was directed through the GA line first by accident. They tore apart the RV I was driving, pulled out all the firewood and glass inside. Made it through that check fine, then real cops pulled me to the side (first and only time it has ever happened in my career). He explains to me that I need to get out and they are bringing a dog on board. Sweating bullets on the inside, calm as a cucumber on the outside. Cop pats me down, then has me stand off to the side and watch a dog and 3 cops jump on board. Fortunately I don't think they are looking for greenery (the dogs would go nuts at an event like this). Passed again, then was redirected pack to the VIP gates where I had the RV torn apart a 3rd time.
