They make their money off the casinos. Booking people like Calvin Harris drives foot traffic.
Not to mention the cover to get in and then the table/bottle service revenue alone is insane. Like what? $500 for a bottle of Grey Goose. Insanity.
I was in Vegas on NYE and a good table at Hakkasan (Tiesto) was 25k. TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. That only included like 2-3 bottles. Tables for Calvin were even more expensive.

i'm all for people doing what they want with their money, but it is impossible for me to think of someone who would spend $25,000 for one night at a club as anything other than a piece of shit asshole.

I think that club looks amazing and by all accounts is fun so I always suggest to my friends that frequent Vegas to try and go there but there is zero chance in hell that I'd be spending that on a table. Why would you want to even DJ for that type of crowd anyways? Outside of the extremely easy money it is for the DJ's (and the comp'd rooms and booze and what not) I can't imagine they actually "enjoy" playing those gigs. The actual producer/dj's that is.
E: One of my favorite Roo sets. And what a perfect late night set too.
It was Slayer into Tycho that night right? Great combo.
Yeah Slayer at This into Tycho at That while Mumford was going on Main Stage. Enjoyong Slayer from afar and then Tycho into the SJ was a great night of music.
I like the idea of that though because it almost certainly means they will be doing a tour or more festivals together as opposed to this just being a one-off.

i saw a link of FB yesterday that they are doing more shows, not sure where, but damn that's going to be incredible

I just pray its a real tour and not just, NYC, LA, DC, Miami, and one other Cali show. If they do a 10-20 city expanded tour then holy shit. I've hated on the crap Mau5 has brought to fests lately, but this could be legendary.

can't argue that Mau5 does put a ton of effort into everything he does. the latest collab with NVIDA (sp?) is a pretty cool thing to watch the videos of them making comps together. i hope they go outside of the big 4 cities too, can't wait to just see a photo of it

I appreciate that Mau5 streams a lot of his studio sessions and posts a lot of song samples online. But his whole "chill and drink beer on the couch" routine got super old super fast over the past year's fest appearances. Cant wait for the new album though and obviously praying Prydz vs Mau5 comes anywhere near Ohio. (last time Prydz was in Columbus he got fucking stuck in a basement of the biggest shit club in Ohio.....on a Wednesday).

it's funny you bring up the "chill and drink beer on the couch" thing. I actually read that he lost the stems to that song somehow and he can't actually play it live like he does all of his other songs so he just said F it, i'll still play the song and just take a 5 min break
Prydz has never come to MN so i'd love any chance to see him
I was just wondering this because Mau5 by himself got the What and I have to assume that Prydz joining him would only make it bigger. Because of that, I doubt they would bring him back so soon because they wouldn't want both of the first two What stage EDM headlining shows to go to the same guy, even if he has Prydz joining him. Also, speaking as someone who has never enjoyed Mau5, I just really liked both of those videos^^^
Well DeadMau5 by himself was #3. So probably the same actually since I can't see them being any higher than that. But that'd be weird to have DeadMau5 come back as a "headliner" again two years later.

lol was that Sugar Bar 2 or whatever they were calling it? I loved the idea of that place but they did nothing to make it into a proper club it could have been.
