I appreciate that Mau5 streams a lot of his studio sessions and posts a lot of song samples online. But his whole "chill and drink beer on the couch" routine got super old super fast over the past year's fest appearances. Cant wait for the new album though and obviously praying Prydz vs Mau5 comes anywhere near Ohio. (last time Prydz was in Columbus he got fucking stuck in a basement of the biggest shit club in Ohio.....on a Wednesday).
lol was that Sugar Bar 2 or whatever they were calling it? I loved the idea of that place but they did nothing to make it into a proper club it could have been.
It was at Sway, but yeah same thing lol. If I was Prydz I'd never come back to Columbus after that booking.

It was a good idea for them to get rid of Sway and move that type of idea over to Garage Bar (now Dahlia) because it's bigger and all but I still will never understand why they wouldn't just purchase the old "Endzone" and turn it into one massive club. The infrastructure is already completely there. You would only have to knock out like 2 walls and you would be set AND they have that massive outside patio and venue for day-parties even.

I actually worked at Endzone. The Sway/Dahlia owners are the only ones who could make that place work (since their as much of a concert venue as they are a bar) but it has a couple major flaws. 1.) the property is ridiculously expensive because of its sheer size. 2.) It's far enough off park street that nobody wanders that far down. If they wander down that way they end up going to BBR - who has by far the best marketing of any bar in Columbus. 3.) The parking lot across the street is known for major crime and their have been multiple stabbings/muggings in the lot.
It would have been awesome for when they brought in decent name DJs, but unfortunately nobody wants that property due to the difficulty of making a profit there.

This is very true. I forgot about how shady things go on in that parking lot (which is interesting since it's usually the parking lot people park for big events downtown). They should just tear it down and build a new apartment complex or something then. And to be honest, we've been getting Markus Shulz, Tritonal, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, BT and other big names to go to Dahlia so they clearly have their shit in order when it comes to bringing in notable names. All of those names should be invited to Bonnaroo but they never book unique acts like that.
Saw Claude Von Stroke at Dahlia, it was amazing. I like Dahlia because I go there for concerts whereas it seems half the attendees are just their for the bar. I arrived 10 minutes before Claude went on and was front and center the whole time.

Agreed. It's a nice mix of both and if people start to get dancing it gives you a good combo of club and concert feel.
I hate to say it, but if Kygo is at Roo then he is probably in the Mau5 spot or he'll be late night which. Maybe in the Ellie Goulding spot from this year.

is Adventure Club total trash? They are coming down here for FMMF on Labor Day weekend and just trying to figure out if I'm going to walk over for them or stay at a different stage and drink heavily waiting for Passion Pit instead.

well that's all opinion, this board will tell you're they trash for sure lol. i they play your typical pretty dubsteph-ish set. so if you're drinking heavily it might be fun

they've produced a couple of catchy songs, but they are absolutely the most generic sounding EDM you can imagine.
Familiar electro sounding samples will lead into the track, then there will be a female vocal singing in a melancholy fashion about some lost lover, or about how she loves you but it's in a sad and dark way, like you don't bring out the best in her or whatever, or her love for you is unrequited, etc, then the beat will stop and the production will grow sparse and the female vocal will hit a higher note and soar "ahHhHhHhHhH" like that, then the tension snare will enter the track and slowly rise, then right at the peak of the snare tension build up, ALL the production drops out just leaving the female voice singing the big hook line that includes the song title, then the beat will drop back in with ever-so-slight dubstep elements thrown in. repeat 3x and there you go, adventure club/generic EDM.

if you were trying to describe this song, you nailed it lol

They haven't done anything worthwhile in years and have continued to ride their 3-4 big songs for that long. They take the top 20-25 EDM songs played live at any one time and throw them together for their set. If you appreciate good EDM music, at all, then I'd advise saving your money. If you plan on rolling and jumping around/dancing to whatever, then AC is your jam.

I wouldn't say total trash. I mean you won't be amazed, but if you want something up-beat it's a good time. They play generic EDM but also mix in some heavy shit. Definitely didn't regret stopping by the end of their set after big grams this year.

All amazing responses by everyone. They will probabaly be a game-time decision and if im feeling some dub-cheese at the time. I listened to their EDCLV set and it was exactly as you guys portrayed it
Prediction for next year: Major Lazer Flume Galantis James Blake The Avalanches Cheat Codes Zhu Gorgon City Kaytranada
This would be an upgrade from last year and I think frankly juuuuuust enough to make us be ok with it without getting too annoyed they didn't book Prydz or someone like that.

Surprised Dillon Francis hasn't been here yet, he would put on a fun show and a Hanzel set at Kalliope would be wild. Before someone inevitably says he's trash or some shit, keep in mind he would probably put on a much better performance at a festival that he's never played, similar to Griz.

why would he randomly play a non trash set just bescause it's bonnaroo?

Have you seen him live? His sets are not trash, unless of course you don't like him or his music in general.

I think he's trash, but you said, "Before someone inevitably says he's trash or some shiz, keep in mind he would probably put on a much better performance at a festival that he's never played".
