It's also hilarious to me that people in this thread have recently expressed interest in acts including Martin Garrix, Swedish House Mafia, Kygo, Big G, Bassnectar, A^I and Kaskade somehow think they're above the likes of David Guetta.
No one said they WANTED Garrix, just said that it wouldn't be a surprise. There will be cheese at the top, are we not supposed to discuss which of the cheese we think is likely to be there? Clearly we all want Eric Prydz and Above and Beyond.
Also separate point. Watch the last 15 minutes of David Guetta's 2016 Ultra set and he does the funniest crowd speeches ever I nearly burst into tears laughing. I want to see David Guetta on that principle alone now.
have you seen the i push the buttons video? omg it's so funny
this is pretty funny but the actual footage of that "performance" is even funnier
I mean, on the one hand he's way better than the trash they usually book for the Silent Disco and the Christmas Barn and what not, but on the other hand, it's weird that he's the number 1 DJ set of 2016.

Just saw that Lane 8 is coming to a place downtown here in December. I should or shouldn't go? I'm not as familiar but I'm seeing mixed reviews here recently.

he's got a few mixes up on soundcloud, check them out and if it's your thing you should go to the show. he just recently posted a fall 2016 mix. i really dig him. also he keeps his mouth shut during the show and just plays music, so that's a positive.

If you like house music then go. Is this in Columbus cuz if so I'm gonna go. They don't get jack shit here when it comes to house and tech.

Yeah it looks like it's at Park Street Saloon. And apparently they are advertising it as a show where you aren't allowed to use your cellphone during it. Whatever that means.

My team and I were super anxious about whether we could pull an event like this off,” explains Daniel on the debut event at Mezzanine in May. “We debated so many different technologies and little tools that could help us accomplish our no-phones-on-the-dancefloor goal, but ultimately we decided that if the fans didn’t buy into the concept and self-enforce the core values, no amount of technology would help us. We focused on getting the message out – letting people know what our vision is and why we think it’s so important. San Francisco is possibly the most tech-hip city in the US, but not only did 99% of people keep their phones in their pockets the entire night, they also had a noticeably better time at the show. That show reinforced even more what we believe in and that what we’re doing is something that the music community actually wants and needs.” – Lane 8 on This Never Happened Party
And now the this never happened party is the this never happened tour. And the name of the label he launched.

Ah! Makes total sense now! Honestly, outside of usually snapping one cool mid-show photo on my phone I don't traditionally like to get out my phone and mess around with snapchat or anything like that. That's one thing that really irks me about people is that they will snapchat an entire concert (and while I appreciate seeing half a concert of a show I didn't intend to see) I can't help but wonder what possess' people to snap videos/photos of themselves singing in the crowd instead of just enjoying the show for what it is.

I'm not that into electronic music, but I thought Lane 8 was just ok. Cashmere Cat on the other hand was a top 5 show of the festival for me.

Cashmere cat was nuts. Favorite EDM show ive been too out of only a handful.
If aphex twin played Roo where would they schedule him?
I would imagine they would disrespect him and bury him to mid card on the lineup. Which, honestly, if that means he gets like a Thursday night set or something. I'd actually be more than ok with that!

Just saw Cashmere at a super small fest in Ohio and he fucking killed it. At one point he was laying on the DJ booth mixing between his legs. I know the people who handled the riders and stuff for the fest and they kicked it with him all day. Said he's on of the most down-to-earth, chill, and humble guys they've ever met.

Both his sets this year were a lot of fun. Especially at Kalliope to follow up Griz. His sets are all pretty much the same but his style is unique which is refreshing.
