Saw Mura Masa at Webster Hall last night and had a really good time he was awesome and he had this badass female vocalist with him..I think he would be great on the farm

I came an inch away from going to that last night. But the weather was so lousy I stayed in. Glad to hear it was good. Probably going to DFAs showcase tonight with the fools hope of a surprise LCD or Hot Chip set.

I was already out for a happy hour with co workers so I decided I wanted to go after a few dark and stormys hahah glad I did it was fun! And that sounds dope!
The EDM side of Roo is what I'm afraid will be ruined the quickest with the LN purchase (obviously last year started the downhill tumble). I went from expecting/hoping for a mix of Skrill, Kygo, MLazer, Porter, Flume, Big Grizmatik to now expecting a mix of Yellow Claw, Marshmello, Carnage, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, Tommy Trash.

Couldn't agree more. Not to mention, if they own Bonnaroo now does that mean they have controlling stake in the land as well? Because if so I would be willing to bet the first thing they will do is put an EDM festival there and save all the big names they could get for that and water down Roo with the lowest common denominator of acts.

I feel like we're still way more likely to get stuff from your first list. Problem is that list is mostly bad.

I mean I could have made an "unrealistic because Roo is generic AF with EDM list" which would have included Justice, Chem Bros, Cirez D (if they had Prydz too), Richie Hawtin, Gareth Emery(ok he smells but I was just thinking of acts different from the 1000's of generic trap bros), etc. You may not like some/all of those acts but they'd be refreshing compared to last year and this years expectations.

The last thing I would call anything you listed is "refreshing".

Lol so you'd rather not have EDM at all is what you're saying?
I think this is the one genre where Roo needs to figure out its identity to avoid catastrophe. You can't book an entire day of folk and Americana and throw Kygo, Carnage, Marshmello, NGHTMRE and Brillz on as your electronic selection. The nineteen year olds aren't gonna spend cash on Bonnaroo to see those kind of acts, considering how many generic EDM fests they play, and they aren't going to attract any other demographic.
If you had 5 EDM acts you could hand-pick who would it be?
what would that have to do with thinking acts like Flume, Major Lazer and Big Gigantic that play a million festivals a year would be somehow refreshing?

I honestly think Bonnaroo booked a really solid electronic lineup in 2015. Bigger artists like deadmau5 and ODESZA that aren't awful, solid crossover acts like Jamie xx, Caribou, Flying Lotus, Tycho and Rudimental. 2014 wasn't bad either with Darkside, James Blake, etc.

I meant the list of Chem Bros, Justice, Gareth Emery ( ), Richie Hawtin, etc would be refreshing. Not Flume, MLazer, and the others that are at 90% of EDM fests. Now I understand the disconnect lol

Gareth Emery would likely play bigroom, Richie Hawtin would put everyone to sleep.
On another note, I know it was a DJ set rather than a live set so I would still like to see them when they go on a real tour but I didn't think Justice was that good at Beach Goth. SebastiAn was 10 times better.

Tycho, Darkside, Jamie XX, and FlyLo are good bookings. Odesza is ok but they're 18 month run where they never changed they're set up got annoying (saw them twice and it legit the exact same 75 minutes). I like Mau5 but I wasn't excited with the booking because he hadn't put shit out in forever. His whole couch thing was the lamest thing I've ever seen (I know about losing something for it causing him to not know what do do). This year just stuck out as about as bad as it could get. Maybe they will book Hippie Sabotage to save the lineup this year

It was fairly early into ODESZA's run, so it didn't feel too stale at that point. deadmau5 did seem more alluring at the time due to his new stage set-up (which was a step-down from the cube) and it was questionable of Roo to put him as a headliner, but overall it was definitely fresher than a lot of bookings could've been.

I couldn't think about where in that 18(ish) month period Roo fell for Odesza. Mau5 was a nice change-of-pace headliner (especially since he hadn't played THAT many shows in the 6-12 months beforehand) but imagine if he had just put out a new album!

It was fairly early into it. deadmau5 released while(1<2) the year before, so technically he was touring behind a release (even though that release was pretty disappointing).
