I lived outside of LA my whole life then moved to Columbus for college and looking at all the shows I miss is one of the hardest parts about not being home.

If it makes you feel better, living in Chicago means that I get gouged on the secondary market for any high demand concert, event, etc. It probably doesn't, but still.

Dang I don't know if I'd want to come from LA to Columbus - mainly because of weather. Although I think we get pretty decent shows but I've lived here all my life so I'm bias.

Southern Californian people are the worst thats part of why I wanted to leave. And weather ain't a big deal to me but agreed, my hometown is 70-80 degrees and no rain for 99% of the year.

I've been in Columbus for 10 years now (graduated from OSU in '10) and I must say it's pretty insane how much better the market here has gotten for bigger EDM acts. I think the PVD concert I went to in college was the biggest name we got around that time. Dahlia in the Arena District has really stepped their game up in terms of mainstream DJs too.
I just wish Dahlia got a bit more house and techno artists. Claude Von Stroke was amazing there. But with Dahlia, ExpressLive (Fka the LC), The Newport, the Schottenstein Arena, Nationwide Arena, and the Basement, we have a fuck ton of stuff to choose from. The best part is shit takes forever to sell out, I think Flume tickets were still available two months later.
I love OSU so far but there's too many damn people here.
Just got to find the right group of friends to make it feel more intimate I'd say, but 50,000 is massive. OSU had higher attendance than Bonnaroo did.
That's hilarious and totally accurate. They are statistically up there in terms of largest freshman class almost every year too. I agree as well about the variety of music that comes to Columbus now as well and how it doesn't sell out immediately so it's awesome to be able to make a decision on an act to see a day or two before they perform. Dahlia did bring Mark Knight in over the summer and that literally blew my mind that they booked him/he would actually do a set in Columbus, OH.
My wife graduated with the largest class ever at the time (like 11,000+). OSU is absolutely crazy. That's why I went to a nice small, quiet, school in Athens, Ohio.
What is up with Nashville getting so many good artists recently? Walker and Royce last weekend and Ardalan this weekend? I wonder how much it is to book these guys and why we aren't booking them in Knoxville.

So CHVRCHES are doing a show of only cover songs tonight in BK, but I already have Lemaitre tix. I did get the Lemaitre tix for free from that ticketmaster settlement thing though.. Which should I go to?
