There's a lot I'd love to see crossover from Gov Ball. Barring Phoenix because Shaky:
Chance (given) Lorde Cage the Elephant (I know this opinion is not popular but I like them) Beach House Schoolboy Q The Avalanches (again already given) Phantogram Banks Local Natives Mac Demarco Rufus Du Sol Parquet Courts Charli XCX Danny Brown Warpaint (given) Car Seat Headrest The Strumbellas

I was surprised to see Bleachers on there since they haven't put anything out in quite awhile. I believe they have been in the studio since their tour with Charlie XCX got cut short (because Charlie got mad) but haven't heard any rumblings of any single or album plans yet.
They are probably too big but Rufus on Thursday night in the Cashmere Cat slot from last year would be a lot of fun. Any after dark slot would be great though.

Rufus in any position at this year's fest would be a tiny victory. As long as they don't hit up Europe I would expect them there.
Which would be A1 for me. Only seen two of them before but I'm all for seeing RHCP and The Weeknd again.
I'd be perfectly happy while in attendance at any of those 6 shows, but none of them get me particularly pumped.
U2 and Chance should.
Maybe I shouldn't build it up too much, but I feel like Chance's set will be one for the Bonnaroo history books given his love the for the festival and how far he's come since his last actual set.
And unless you hate U2, that set is bound to be pretty special.
Still not expecting much out of this lineup though

For me so far
1. Coachella 2. Governors Ball 3. Bottle Rock 4. Okeechobee 5. Forecastle 6. Buku 7. Hangout
I'm expecting Shaky to have one of their best yet, which sadly means another stinker from Roo. Bonnaroo has a lot to offer at the top, and then drops tremendously in the middle and down. Sasquatch and Lolla will bring some unique lineups, same with Panorama and ACL.

I'll surely enjoy both sets. I like both artists. I just happen to think Chance (along with Gambino) is a bit overrated around these parts.

I agree that neither should really get a headline spot. But Chance would add a lot the lineup for a down year.

I've been listening to more of The Weeknd lately and am actually liking him the more I listen to it. For someone who isn't into a lot of mainstream rap or hip hop I think he could be a really great pick as our hip hop headliner. I just wonder how he's going to be live now?

Not hip-hop.
Sorry, R&B, with a little pop and edm? I don't really follow the lines of genres. Music is simply music and many bands and artists pick from many different genres. Have you seen him live though? I'm still wondering how he is first hand?

I have seen him twice and he was great both times. I think I enjoyed him better at ACL 2015 than Voodoo 2016, but both were great. I think I like the 2015 show better because I had been trying to see him since 2012 or 2013 when he was first discovered with that Wicked Games song, so I was more hyped about the show.

The XX was just announced for Columbus May 5th. Fits the timeline that a lot of Roo artists work on in terms of rolling through Ohio in May-early June before heading down to Manchester.
Figured since they are technically only still rumored this would help further along the probability of them being there.

Well, yeah - except usually artists hit Ohio and then like Kentucky or something a week or so before Bonnaroo. In this case, they're in Ohio over a month beforehand, and then detour all the way out to Barcelona the weekend before Bonnaroo.
This is true. They could have had that date booked further in advance and are just working around that though. Just wanted to point out it was around the similar time you see people roll though.
Also well worth noting that the xx's tour dates presently line them up absolutely perfectly for Shaky Knees - in Austin on 5/10, and Raleigh on 5/14. Them headlining SK in Atlanta on 5/12 seems pretty likely. If that happens, no way they're playing Bonnaroo.
Damn you might be right. In which case I'll be sure to give my guy an earful. I can't see why they wouldn't do a Nashville date if they're doing SK but oh well. I'll see them at Boston Calling either way
