No question it's selling bad. I wish they could make some Wayhome-like additions that at least add a little juice to each day.
Doubtful though - it's pretty obvious they spent their whole talent budget - just in a very ineffective and stupid way.
Imagine if instead of booking Bob Dylan, they held off and just added a upper mid tier act every month like Ryan Adams/Foster the People/Justice level act. Would have moved more tickets and kept the buzz going.
This Dylan booking just blows my mind, I can't wait to hear reports from the fest to see how few people actually show up for his set. He hasn't been good live in close to 20 years. The Americanarama tour w/MMJ and Wilco a couple years back was one of the most painful sets I've ever seen. The fact that he also refused to collaborate with any of the other bands on the bill was very disappointing.
It's funny too... when it seemed all but likely Beyonce fell through I was excited who they'd get to replace her given how much money they had to play around with. Why did I get my hopes up? It's been said a million times but they should have just stuck with Muse/21P/Chance and beefed up the rest of the lineup.

I'm posting because my band, Honeytiger, is in the top 25 of Firefly's Big Break Live and I was hoping I could get inforoo's firefly crew to help get a fellow inforooer on one of the stages this year.
It is super easy: You'll need to create an account (if you don't already have one) and then go to Contribute Ideas > Contests > Big Break Live and find Honeytiger.
You can vote 1 time every day until April 26th when this round is over. I hope you can help my dreams come true Whether we win or not, I've already got my ticket and I'll see ya there!
Interesting...Sofi Tukker and Bob Moses are the only 2 electronic acts I'm interested in so I guess they'll be outdoors. Good...Pavilion Stage is really nothing special.
Updated with pavilion artists. No change made to Sunday (pats self on back) but had to move The White Panda on Saturday and that changed a bunch of things around. And I guess they're only using 3 stages Thurs like last year (Coffee House excluded) and just cramming the Pavilion stage with artists.

Saturday is truly awful. Especially for people like me that aren't really that excited about any of the "three headliners". Chance will be cool, but it's still not even really my jams.
If Firefly was smart, and they realized that Saturday is really weak besides the three headliners, they would roll out Chance and The Weeknd both unopposed.

I guess - but that's a pretty big FU to the people who don't care for hip-hop - which is a lot of people considering Firefly is (or was) primarily an Alt-Rock festival.

Those days are long gone, this festival is now exclusively a highschool/college party, complete with Blink 182 cover band.
I'm with you. It feels off no matter what they do with him though. I still think they do something like this rather put him on at like 7:30-8:45 on the main stage playing for people who are getting a good spot for The Weeknd.

They can't be that dumb. They remember Morissey - this would be an even bigger disaster.
Put him on the Backyard Stage before Chance or the Weeknd during sunset - its a big stage, people can sit down and relax during it, not as much pressure at Main Stage.

in that scenario, where and when is Galantis playing? Unless the biggest EDM name playing BY after the headliner is moving.
any way you slice it, Saturday is going to be a mess. they really boofed the "major" day of the festival
I think that for many people, having both Chance and The Weeknd on one day is a perk and not a boof. Especially for the type of folk who would only be coming in for one day

I think you have to do it like this. The only problem is that before 7pm is a wasteland of crap - but that's bad booking not scheduling.
Chance and Weeknd are technically unopposed but you can just have 2nd sets from the treehouse and coffeehouse to give people another option.

Maybe switching Kesha and Dylan? I don't see how she would get a longer set on the Main stage and they stick Bob Dylan with a midcard set on the Backyard

In my mock I have T Pain playing on the lawn during Dylan, and then Galantis overlaps Chance during half his set. There's no way Dylan can be unopposed at like 7PM. The festival is too populated then, and people who don't want to see Dylan would be pissed off to have nothing to see during prime hours of the night. It's a little different at 10PM-12AM, because by then people have already been in the festival all day.
Plenty of other festivals have opposing headliners. I think if ever there were a time to do it, it would be when you have The Weeknd, Chance, and Bob Dylan, all on the same day.
