Talking about a home pick, but is there a chance Radiohead is our number one next year (assuming they tour next year)?
Obviously never played before, Creep gets played on the radio, and surely they will move tickets.
I'm sure if a festival like okeechobee tried for Radiohead then so did firefly. Radiohead would definitely get me back to firefly but I'm gonna guess that red frog couldn't get them.

Couldn't or wouldn't?
Couldn't. They definitely tried right? In my mind any festival who wants to move tickets at least tried to get Radiohead.
Firefly continues its attempt to be like the big 4, this year, they're copying Lolla 2016.
Radiohead, RHCP, LCD Soundsystem,
I'm not sure much of the Firefly demographic cares or even knows who LCD is, and I feel like Radiohead would be reluctant to play Firefly, just their ego. RHCP will be back sooner than later tough.
Bands from the last few lineups I would be surprised to not see this year (some are obviously better than others): Imagine Dragons Twenty One Pilots Cage the Elephant Phantogram Slyvan Esso The Chainsmokers Local Natives Band of Horses Grouplove White Panda (Obviously)

Grouplove can't be back again already, they have already been at Firefly 3 times. Seems like they are on the even year schedule. I could definitely see The Chainsmokers brought back similar to the way Zedd was in 2015. First time around lower on the bill then blows up and gets the prime backyard slot.

At a festival like Firefly....Imagine Dragons and TOP would be headliners. Doubt they would get both, but I think TOP is going to be one of the headliners next year.

Consider chainsmokers a lock. They love firefly (they debuted their new setup in 2015) and have blown up since they last played. Actually I'd be surprised if they weren't there.
Radiohead (or some other actually good Rock headliner)/ The Weeknd/ 21P/ Chainsmokers makes so much sense.
I'm not saying I think Radiohead would headline. I just think they will get one headliner that would really entice me (Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Muse etc)
If we did, I would think the #1 spot would be something juicy like Springsteen. Kinda like when Paul came and they rebooked The Killers. I could perhaps see Bruce Springsteen - RHCP - The Weeknd.
Fri- Springsteen Sat- The Weeknd Sun- RHCP
That reminds me, I think they learned after 2014 not to schedule a potential dud on Sunday. They probably lost out on some money given how poor the general reception was for Jack Johnson with people leaving early.

RHCP could easily be #1 at Firefly. They're at least as big as the Foos.

They booked Tom Petty in '13 and Sir Paul in '15. Hoping for a solid Legacy act in '17 ala Bruce/Pearl Jam. Killers and KoL are out due to recency. What other radio friendly alt bands are gonna be touring? RHCP, TOP? We might see a Weeknd/Kendrick/pop headliner this year.
Dont see us getting the Weeknd. The only hiphop/rnb headliner weve had was Outkast.
If they go that route again I think theyll play it safer with someone like Drake.
Billy Joel - Drake - Calvin Harris - 21P could make sense.
I clearly remember a shitton of people coming out for Tom Petty so booking an old white guy is a safer #1 than Mumford or Radiohead
Gov Ball dude AMA on Reddit said Radiohead won't be available for them in early June, so probably out for us.
"Radiohead will be stateside earlier in spring apparently, and unfortunately won't be available in our time period for gov ball. we asked. we love radiohead."

ugh no billy joel please
Agreed, he was more or less a placeholder. The takeaway point is that our #1 will almost certainly be an old white guy, because that method has sold the most tickets in the past.
