The camping passes are per car and not per person right?
Correct. It will probably be about $250 with fees for premier. You can fit (more or less) two mid sized tents and an EZ up in one camping spot. They are 10X30ft.

Some people have also had success with multiple camping spots, but only one car for extra room. This will require a lot of communication when you are being moved along.

Oh yea I should have mentioned that. I get at lease two spots every year. It's not really that difficult, but yea you do have to tell them you have two spots otherwise they will just keep plugging people along and you will be SOL (or have to be moved somewhere else).

Also, the Wednesday camping starts about maybe 1000 ft (somebody else could probably give a better distance since I haven't camped since the first year) for the North entrance. If you get there early enough you get basically get a spot to roll out of your tent and into the festival. Non-Wednesday camping sites are a bit of a hike with some being a 20 minute walk away from the main entrance.
Muse - RHCP - Chance The Rapper - 21 Pilots Odesza - Weezer - Cage The Elephant - MGMT Travis Scott - Marshmello - Beach House - Russ
Granted I had never heard of Russ before the Boston Calling Poster today but was shocked to see his plays corresponding with his billing (#30).
Is that exceptionally low for him or would this be uncharacteristically high?
I'm not sure...he has a huge following on soundcloud but only broke into more mainstream this year I think it could be a huge year for him with all these festival appearances and possibly his first album
Best part about Firefly for me last year was free booze and massages for press. Was triple-fisting drinks and handing two off to my friends/making new friends all weekend. Ended up waking up in GLAMPING in a bed with these two Canadian girls (nothing happened) after Thursday night from making friends by handing extra drinks after I lost my friends.

And this is why awesome media perks sometimes get reduced or removed at festivals. One of the festivals I always cover had that same problem with media going crazy on the free stuff and had to change the layout and rules the next year. Thanks.

It was encouraged by the bartenders and literally everyone was doing that. I myself didn't drink to excess (I'm not much of a drinker) but it's clearly something the festival has done to separate themselves from others.

Eeeesh. If you scored a media pass you are there for work and representing your outlet. You can have a little bit of fun, but you should still act professional. Like matt said above, you are ruining it for other people. Get it together.

I wasn't there representing an outlet -- I bought a ticket and a Goldenvoice friend gave me a media pass. It was one of the few fests I wasn't actually writing about in 2016 -- I've always maintained a professional attitude when there to write about a festival.
It's hard enough doing daily recaps when you get home or back to camp from a long festival day sober -- I couldn't imagine trying to do it after getting inebriated.
Can we go back to talking about bands that we want to play, but won't actually make the lineup.
Sure! May I present to you my beautifully designed, never-going-to-happen mock lineup! It's a little short on names but just imagine the rest filled in with EDM and pop that I don't know.

chris brown?? lol
This is Firefly remember. Had to throw a ridiculous Ludacris sub in there.
i dont even think he falls into that category lol. + john mayer would almost certainly headline.
Really you think? Feel like he hasn't done anything relevant in years.
I'm also a little afraid that Firefly may get Maroon 5 to headline please god no.
He'd 100% be a headliner. Especially with a new album coming out this year. Although he hasn't put out new music in a few years, his name hasn't stopped flowing since Dead & Co.
