Incubus is probably a good bet for the 2nd/3rd line 90's act. They are really popular with the Firefly crowd. I'll admit, I'm a huge fan :S
They are really good live, even with their newer albums being sub par. When I saw them last year they played a few newer songs but stuck to the older albums for a majority of the show.
I'm assuming we saw them at the same place (Kerfuffle 2k15 @merriweather). I loved the set they did. They played some old classics like Vitamin and Sick Sad Little World.
Speaking on 90's nostalgia acts, it wouldn't shock me if they booked Green Day to headline. They're supposedly working on a new album, and considering how many people were excited about Blink-182, they would probably be well-received.
If they don't get Pearl Jam or a legend act, I could see them put Green Day as the third headliner. Something really out there like Jay Z - Arcade Fire - Green Day - Skrillex. That would attract the masses in the North East.
cant see Jay playing any American fests, especially on the east coast when he has MIA that competes with them.
Incubus prob hasnt been there up to this point because they still demand headliner status, which they dont deserve
Really? As far back as I can find (going back to like 2005) they have been on the second line at any decent festival unless I missed it.
I mean I am guessing but I think Im right. They would fit the Firefly scene perfectly, and Im sure Firefly has tried to book them before. The only reason I think they havent struck a deal is because Firefly is trying to underbill them in their minds

Yep same place. That was such a good day of music. I already saw Blink 182 so there really wasnt much pulling me back to Kerfuffle, same goes for Trillectro as well. Both had significantly better lineups for my tastes last year.
first 2 lines are too stacked. One of Beck or Strokes would make sense but wouldnt count on both. Halsey was 11 at Roo i think so she might be even higher by next year, which would be a damn shame.
I don't think the first two lines are too stacked from a cost perspective, but I don't think they're going to get Pearl Jam and Beck. Replace Pearl Jam with Arcade Fire or RHCP, and replace Beck with Phoenix. Sub Incubus/The Offspring and The Shins or The Avett Brothers for Noel Gallagher and Halsey (assuming she takes a break next year).
Beck was there pretty recently so I don't see him being rebooked. His set wasnt terribly crowded if I remember correctly....
He totally got he shaft with that scheduling. His set finished right before Outkast's set began, and he was up against Tegan & Sara and Sleigh Bells. Giving Imagine Dragons a 90-minute pre-headlining slot was the ultimate insult. I wouldn't come back if I were Beck.

I like seeing James Bay in these mocks. Definitely someone I want to see at FF.
Edit: Also, I wouldn't be surprised if EOTS was back at FF. With how well received they were in 2015, recent success again from Walking on a Dream, and a new album coming out...maybe they will be on the 2nd line this time around.

I could see Chromeo playing this festival next year. They were apparently in talks for 2015 but dropped out before the lineup was released. They have a new album in the works, and they've played just about every other big U.S. festival.

The issue with the late night schedule is they don't use the lawn, and for some reason they don't always use the treehouse/forest stage. Oh yea, and The White Panda always clogs up a spot. The way they schedule it, you can only really have one big name playing, and then a smaller name play at the pavilion. Ideally someone would be at the treehouse as well. I still can't believe they wasted the availability of the treehouse Friday night. I mean, why create an awesome new stage and then not use it for the last 5 hours of the night?
I agree. Why they don't use the lawn for late nights is beyond me.
Although they have never come out and said it, I think the proximity of the lawn to the residential areas may be the issue (and has always been the rumor). From what I've heard, you can CLEARLY hear the lawn from the neighborhood next to the Woodlands, like double that of the backyard or other stages. Perhaps they don't actually have any restriction using that stage after a certain time, but more so they want to avoid having to deal with it being an issue.

Never heard this but it definitely makes sense. Don't want the locals lobbying for a earlier sound ordinance.
