Kind of random, but does anybody think they will just release the lineup already split up by days? Last year I think the day by day lineup came out a day or two after the full lineup.
I hope so. I'm pretty sure it was around this time last year the day by day came out.
Yea I think originally it came out in November a day or two after the lineup, then they revised it with the main switch being between Tame and EW&F around this time.

It will just be the regular lineup poster tomorrow. I'm told the breakdown by day won't be out for a while yet.
Ahh gotcha, no worries. I'm guessing there will be some sort of video too, since they had people submit videos naming acts back in December?

Ah bummer. I usually wait until the day by day to do the mock schedule.
? - Muse - 21 Pilots - Chance is what you guys are going with?
I've hung around inforoo long enough to know that when people are thinking like this, the ? ends up being no one.
Muse, 21P, Chance. Enjoy.
I wouldn't be surprised, but that's a very underwhelming top 3 for an 80,000 person festival that booked Paul McCartney one year and Foo Fighters + Outkast another year.

It's worth noting the lineups around the country each year these acts were booked. It's been said but in 2014 OutKast was everywhere. Macca was touring and happened to be available for Firefly. That was just total serendipity and I think it's unfair to hold the festival to that standard every year.

Am I missing something in regard to Chance? I just can't get into it...besides his feature on Ultralight Beam I've yet to find anything I enjoy...any suggestions? Coloring Book doesn't sound like something that's going to be easily recreated live due to all the features and midtempo tracks.
Besides Acid Rap and UB what has he done to earn a headlining spot? Looking at his most recent tour it looks to be 5-7k seat venues and only a handful looked to be sellouts.
Can someone point me towards something that drove his popularity? I'm honestly just not getting it. He hasn't even charted a true hit single yet. What else should I listen to from him to get ready for his set?
sometimes you just dont get an artist, no big deal. Chance rules and he killed at MIA, felt like it was HL worthy performance.
I know, I just don't get where the hype came from. I don't see a Blueprint/College Dropout/Illmatic moment from him, what gave him his break? Just Acid Rap?

I think a lot of his appeal is with the "Generation Z" kids. Neither of my boys, both of whom like him, are big fans ("Gen Y" kids) . But my daughter and all her friends love him. None of them typically listen to pop, and I think the independent aspects of what Chance is and the fact that he made his mark by releasing his stuff, showing up at festivals and camping with the crowds and also being featured in 2014/15 as a special guest at some of the festivals he went to scored a lot of points. Also being a party animal helps that generation because they go pretty wild. They all loved Coloring Book despite the Gospel and other random influences not often seen in young rappers bragging about money/exploits/hoes/whatever. I guess it's the honesty of what is being portrayed vs. some fake b.s. that permeates so much younger hip hop today.

j. cole is a headliner simply because of his mediocre ass 2014 forest hills drive.
just cause we dont like an album, doesnt mean it wasnt popular enough among college kids to warrant an act being a headliner. and colouring book was that album.

I'm going to stay with my very original theory and say that when they didn't get Beyonce - they went back to wanting a legacy act since Chance and TOP cover the top line.

I'd rather see a mediocre top line with a great undercard than spending a lot of money on a legacy act and ruining what they spent below it. If I'm going to spend 4 days at a festival, there needs to be a solid foundation of acts.

Will there be a video for the release this year or just the poster?

The Who - Muse - 21 Pilots - Chance
Metallica - Muse - 21 Pilots - Chance
Billy Joel - Muse - 21 Pilots - Chance
Muse - Stevie Nicks - 21 Pilots - Chance
Muse - 21 Pilots - Neil Young - Chance
Bon Jovi - Muse - 21 Pilots - Chance
Mayhaps Bruce - Muse - 21p - Chance
This makes more sense than the other ones, but by all accounts, The E-Street Band is taking a break after they finish the Australia + New Zealand tour.
