I think you're underestimating how many people of all ages who either grew up listening to the boss or had parents who did---especially on the east coast. He seems like a very safe legacy for FF.
im not underestimating at all. i live in Philly, i know how big he is on the east coast. But i cant see the older demo committing to a 3 day camping festival made up of mostly millenials just to see him play one night with less production and time. Bruce is like a god in my neighborhood bu i doubt most would go travel to firefly for it. i could be wrong but then again i dont expect him to be booked.
Yeah next they'll be thinking about booking someone like Paul McCartney. No way the older crowd would commit to that and sell out the festival.

Was just going to say they sold the most passes in 2015 and that was with all the pre-festival disasters and clearly the worst overall lineup they have had so far. I mean for ****s sake Saturday's top billed artists were Kings of Leon, Foster the People, Kid Cudi, Steve Aoki and Sublime w/Rome.
KOL is big in the northeast for whatever reason. i believe they headlined MIA the year it saw its largest crowd. McCartney is more of a rare act than Bruce though which is part of my point. Im not saying he wont draw or anything or even draw big, of course he will, i just dont think it would be some massive flock of fans from up and down the east coast especially coming off a recent tour.

I'm sure a lot of older people will just come whatever day Bruce would play, $250-$300 isn't much for someone with money to see their favorite band close by, considering he probably won't be touring much if at all in 2017.
Bruce Springsteen - Kendrick Lamar - Green Day Twenty One Pilots - Jack U - Incubus - Chance The Rapper - Paramore Flume - Beach House - Bryson Tiller - Young the Giant - Grizmatik (Griz + Gramatik) Foals - ZHU - James Bay - Bloc Party - Jimmy Eat World - Duke Dumont - Haim
(Day - headliner/sub - backyard EDM healdiner)
Fri: Incubus - Bruce - Jack U Sat: 21P - Kendrick - Flume Sun: Paramore - Green Day - Grizmatik
Bruce is probably more of a long shot but this is updated from the one I put up back in June.
Really? I tried not to go overboard. Although I'm not sure what The Boss's price tag is. I figured Kendrick and Green Day probably offset some of the additional cost so you wouldn't see the dramatic drop off like in 2015.

My point was that he hits multiple demos on the east coast. Bruce is a legacy act that kids on the east coast will more than likely really enjoy.

it's like crazy crazy. Just a little too stacked. And I think at this point at Firefly (or most fests) 21p is top 3 unfortunately

Just saw that. It definitely looks like they will be hitting up the festival circuit. Going to Germany for a few fests the weekend after Firefly. Seems only a given to fill in the dates for the week before. Perhaps they struck a combo deal with Hangout Fest. I could see them doing all three of Okeechobee/Hangout/Firefly.

I was honestly thinking Panorama/ Hangout/ Firefly

would they headline or go in the blink182 spot though

looking at the size of venues they're playing, I don't see how they headline. They're playing the Tower Theatre in Philly, and will definitely sell out it's ~3,000 person capacity. Blink sold out BB&T Pavilion which holds 25k.

I feel like they would be a third headliner. Like in my mock, they work perfectly if they have to use a larger amount of the budget for the first spot (Springsteen, etc.).

They're absolutely a headliner. Those fall dates are a handful of intimate shows that will coincide with the release of the new album. Foo Fighters did the same thing back in 2014. Besides, if you look at the European dates, it's pretty clear that they'll be playing arenas next year.

i really hope they book springsteen, or a larger act. i'd be ok with the impending doom of a TOP headliner, and some green day, in the case

You guys are severely under estimating Green Days draw and asking price. If they play they're either one or two on the lineup. They were #1 and headlined over Neal Young at Voodoo 2012 and when they canceled they booked Metallica in their place. If they can book Metallica with the money Green Day wanted they're not cheap. Last year they were #1 at NIFI fest over Kings of Leon who was #2 on the Firefly lineup two years in a row. If they play they're #1 or possibly #2.

i haven't paid attention to them in quite some time, so that's why i was curious. makes sense though

I could see them as a #2 at Firefly, but they have no business being the highest-billed act at any large festival in 2017.

I don't know... they haven't had a successful album since 21st century breakdown (2009) and haven't really had much spotlight in some time either. I think they work perfectly for a #3 headliner, maybe a #2 depending on who the #1 and #3 headliners are.
