Obviously leaving some out but this is about 18 acts I'd really want to check out, FF has like 9 for me. This is an awesome weekend of music, I remember seeing people underwhelmed by this lineup but it's quickly become my favorite. I'd say depending where you live to hold out for WH the lineup, it will feature alot of crossover with Panorama, has camping, and the exchange rate helps us out a bit with the cost of traveling up there.
See I'm the exact opposite in numbers I wanna see. That said NIN and ATCQ are the best1-2 punch of a day 3 of 2017

Not sure why people are shocked/complaining about the Weeknd being #1. He's absolutely massive right now. He has more top 20 hits and has sold more records than anyone else on the lineup.

I don't know guys, I think the lineup is pretty okay. The Weeknd and Twenty One Pilots are pretty good sub-headliners. Muse is great, Chance is always fun, Bob Dylan will be a good history lesson.
For a day or two, this will be fun. People are talking about a "Full Lineup" with different billing but I'm pretty sure this is the real one.

Besides Macca in 2015, I don't see how this is any different (or worse) than what this festival has put out.
It's always been an alt-rock festival with some nostalgia thrown in at it's heart.
Muse, The Shins, Weezer, Bob Dylan. That's what Firefly built it's brand on.
The Weeknd at Number 1 is insane and quite frankly, it was really dumb. I understand it was probably a last minute scramble, but it's reallyyyyy going to piss off a lot of the dedicated fan base of people.
the wekand isnt going to piss off any of the fest regulars.
Eh I grew up with OAR. They were my concert gateway when 10 years ago so i wanted to show them respect. I also had a free ticket to their Coney Island show last year and they're fun live.

I love em, but RKS literally has like 12 songs, them being that high is pretty ridiculous. Too bad people won't be leaving camp till like 6 every day anyway.

Sad to see the direction Firefly is headed. Attended 2012-2015 and enjoyed. Wasn't excited about last year's lineup but probably would have gone if not for work issues. Thoroughly unimpressed by this year's effort, and missing last year makes it easier to stay away. I'm sure they'll sell a million tickets and make plenty of money. Still somewhat happy that my home state has sustained a big fest for 6 years now. But, I personally have no interest in spending a $1000(ticket, camping, food/beverage, etc) on this lineup. Shaky Knees it is.

The problem is that while this may be fun for a day or two, it's a 4 day festival.

I was already planning on skipping thursday, glad I probably won't have many regrets, if any.
I generally like Firefly, because I look forward to alternative/indie rock and obviously the occasional legacy act. It was different than other events, because the focus seemed to be on that over EDM/Hip Hop, which for me is a good thing. I was underwhelmed last year but still went. This year's lineup is flat out atrocious. There are a "base" of Firefly attendees that will be irritated with this, including myself. I love Muse. I love Weezer. I like Bob Dylan, but we all know how he performs now. He's no Paul McCartney (or U2).
Franz Ferdinand/Glass Animals/Phantogram/Naked and the Famous/Bleachers and maybe a few others interest me, but overall the whole lineup drops off pretty quickly. And I expected a better undercard with the list of headliners.
Easy choice to skip FF this year. Worried about its future since its relatively close to me. Hope they can get Pearl Jam/Bruce in the future.

firefly just has like 20-30 random ass acts at the bottom that no one has ever heard of that wont move a single ticket, and if you just dropped all of them and used the money for the likes of MGMT, The XX, Sigor Ros, Mac Demarco, Future Islands, Father John Misty, and this lineup would be a lot sexier.

I agree, Shaky Knees for me as well now, possibly Wayhome.
Bonnaroo and Firefly side by side, taken from the Bonnaroo subreddit
Seeing them side-by-side I think shows where Firefly went wrong. They seem to be obsessed with cheesy throwbacks instead of focusing on up and coming alt-rock artists. T-Pain would have been enough. You don't need T-Pain, Busta Rhymes, Kesha, OAR, Wale, 30 Seconds from Mars, Ok Go.
It's just bad that Firefly chose those acts instead of The xx, Milky Chance, Portugal the Man, The Front Bottoms, Young the Giant, Royal Blood. Or else the lineup will look even worse in 5 years.

if Anna Shoemaker doesn't rev your engines, are you really a music fan?

I wanted to be honest about my situation, because it's my responsibility to let anyone else out there that you are not alone. I am enduring the 5 stages of grief.
1. Denial and Isolation: My roommate and I grab coffee at 945 and hustle back for the big show. 10am strikes. Despite sitting with my roommate for the lineup release, we both comb the lineup in silence. Once. Twice. A third time. "There have to be better names in here." We both sat in silence.
"I really like a lot of the top third," one of us mutters. I don't remember who. I played Bob Dylan songs. I played The Shins. "I heard Jared Leto has a really good voice," one of us chokes out. "Haha Kesha, that's funny." my roommate says in a desperate attempt to cut through our sorrows.
2. Anger: "F*CK THE WEEKND" I yell in my kitchen. "F**********CKKKKKK THE WEEKND AND F*CK 21 PILOTTTTTTTTSSSSSS"
3. Bargaining: I begin combing through the Bonnaroo lineup. "U2 would be pretty cool, I guess." "It's something new.. and the drive could be.. fun." I play a random Bonnaroo Spotify playlist while I work. The first song is by Snails.
4. Depression: Firefly is over. Bonnaroo is over. Festivals are over. Everything is over. I'm over.
5. Acceptance: Thank you for being my first festival. I will pass you onto the children now. Next year, when Steve from Blues Clues closes out the Backyard stage, while the Wiggles bring down the main stage, I will know I made the right choice.

"Weeknd will do a lot to establish a tone. Arrested for punching a cop in Virginia in 2015 and a big advocate of Black Lives Matter. Doesn't quite fit in with FF days passed...."

im officially done with the firefly reddit.
Lets hope they don't listen to Initiation from his third mixtape.
There's enough alternative music fans in NYC to support a day fest topped by NIN, Frank Ocean, ATCQ, and Solange.
You're gonna need The Weeknd, 21 Pilots, Flume, etc. to convince the kids to camp for 4 days in Delaware.
Panorama and FYF are for the grown up music nerds in NYC and LA, Hangout is for the college kids to go crazy in Alabama, Firefly is for the kids to camp on the east coast and take share from 'Roo, Coachella does a bit of everything (legacy still appealing to music geeks, but needing some garbage to still move 200k tix)
Panorama didn't seem to have a ton of support from those fans last year
Except that we now all know how awesome a fest it is. Plus, everybody that did show up last year was super chill.

I honestly woke up this morning expecting to have to defend this Lineup. I have gone to the past 3 Firefly's and thought they have done a pretty good job. Some have certainly been better than others, but each have had at 15-20 acts that I was excited to see with a number more that I could get down with after listening. This year I counted 8
