I honestly woke up this morning expecting to have to defend this Lineup. I have gone to the past 3 Firefly's and thought they have done a pretty good job. Some have certainly been better than others, but each have had at 15-20 acts that I was excited to see with a number more that I could get down with after listening. This year I counted 8
Take a listen through the Spotify playlist. This is a departure for this festival for sure, but I think the people who will go this year are the ones really looking to not just be entertained by bands they are already familiar with, but also by some they have no idea about. I'm okay with there being critics every year. I think a lineup like this makes people do a little more research and really get into the music. Back in 2012 we had Imagine Dragons on the dead last line of the poster and they went on to blow up. I think this year they're looking to do that, but on a bigger scale. Are there bands I'd want to see that didn't make it? Sure, but I'm okay with that. But for the so called music purists who post on these pages and elsewhere, this could be a pretty great opportunity to see some great music you didn't even know you liked.
Maybe the next Imagine Dragons is on the lineup, you guys.
I like that you'll make fun of FireFly's AEG produced shitty lineup, but breathlessly defend Bonnaroo's LiveNation produced shitty lineup. Like honestly, it's great. It makes me very happy.

Sandwich, I like this years Bonnaroo lineup. I do not like the Firefly lineup. Last year I did not like the Bonnaroo lineup and said so repeatedly.

I heard someone on the Facebook page mention that they believe the bottom few lines (20ish bands) might be for the hub:camping stages - because there seem to be some extra bands. That could explain why everyone is freaking out about that portion. Just a thought.
Has anyone else noticed the lack of female representation in this Firefly lineup?
Just going by the poster, I'm counting 7 out of 36 acts (19.4%) on the first 7 lines with at least one female member (The Shins, Kesha, Phantogram, The Naked and Famous, Banks, Misterwives, The Strumbellas).
If we only count female artists or groups fronted by a woman, it drops to 5 out of 36 (13.8%). If we're only looking at headliners, it's obviously 0 for 5.
The 2016 lineup, by comparison, had 12 out of 35 acts (34.3%) on the first 7 lines with at least one female member, many of which were fronted by women, AND one headliner (Florence).
One could argue that it's common for all festivals with Coachella (11 of the top 64 - 17.2% - have a female member) similarly at a pretty low number and others like Gov Ball about the same, but there are plenty of great acts right now touring that could play Firefly like Lorde, the xx, Beach House, HAIM, Solange, Tegan & Sara, Sleigh Bells, Sylvan Esso, Belle & Sebastian, and Little Dragon to name a few.
Think they'll add any or is this going to be a 2017 sausage fest?
I think that's just a placeholder for now. Right underneath it says "Playing June 15-18. Exact date to be announced soon."
I'm PRAYING they don't play Sunday night. They're the only act I'm really dying to see and I don't want to have to miss Father's Day and work Monday.
I think they'll play either Friday/Saturday. Let Twenty One Pilots close the damn Festival out since Firefly is so obsessed with pleasing them and their fans now.
Shizz - Slang for shit Lo - An exclamation to express surprise or concern. As in: "Whoa, what's that shit?" or "Hey! Look! This is shitty!" Dude named himself that. I am adrift in a sea of morons.

They are the number 1 act I want to see but we have a wedding to attend on Sat 4 hours from the Woodlands. I don't want to have to rush down there and then rush back.

It also is weird to have your placeholder be the last day of the festival

Highly doubt there will be any additions.
If people complain or write long-read think-pieces lamenting this fact, tough shit, because it's fan curated!

People are saying Twenty One Pilots has Thursday on their website and are taking it for fact. I cannot see them playing on Thursday that'd be a pretty radical departure. And it'd mean you'd have no rock headliner from Thursday to Sunday which would be weird.

Many to most bands put the first day of the fest on their website.
Muse on the other hand would normally indicate Sunday.

I seem to like this lineup a lot more than most everyone on here. I mean, at least they got some stuff others didn't. And I believe this will sell well based on the top line alone. They at least tried to pay a bit of attention to folks who have used a rotary phone. Bob Dylan is not always bad now as some have said, though he is definitely not good sometimes. The top reminds me of a Lolla lineup.
It's cool to see Busta on a bill. Muse is rare these days. Dylan is a great get if he's topped their legends poll. Hamilton Leithauser is cool. It definitely trails off quickly, but with that top line they don't need much to move units. Check New Madrid if you like My Morning Jacket or The War on Drugs. Repeat Repeat is good too.
