take out lupe, move logic up, add somebody shitty lower and I think this is pretty spot on
After finally getting to hear all of Blank Face LP; it'll def. do better than Oxymoron. And Bonnaroo is sleeping if they don't book Schoolboy Q, Chance the Rapper, and Kaytranada for relevance purposes. Underachievers (And Ratking, if that wasn't a weird situation), Anderson .Paak, and some of the more underground hitters would be a prize.
They could also re-book Freddie Gibbs at a better time, based on the power of the last album. Same with ASAP Rocky, Pusha T but playing the numbers - doubtful. Danny Brown would be great LN, and enough time has passed to make that a possibility under good conditions. If Tyler hadn't already had a big show this year, I would say that a superjam with Odd Future would also be powerful - but involves a lot of quests that money wise might not work.
De La Soul is fantastic and fills in the old school hip-hop missing from last years collection of hip-hop - but like I said before, I can't tell where the F there is head is at.
The Weeknd or Drake; depending on how they want to pull an audience - on quality of show - The Weeknd is better but Drake pulls more numbers. And as much as I want to deny the power of Future or 2chainz; that fills a hole in that type of music that is popular these days.
Schoolboy's album will not flop. THat Part has 13 million views in 3 weeks and he made a pretty big buzz from when he released his fake album covers with MJ and Donald Trump on them. This album roll out is way better than the shitshow that was Oxymoron.

With the downspiral of current buying I'm not surprised at the projection. I will tell you from what I'm hearing out in the street and and clubs, they really like this 3rd one better. Take it all on the level of buying then fuck it we are all lost. edit: Never forget a high level of "physical buy" purchases are from radio stations and vendors who sell to people. These numbers are all over the place right now. IMO, as a comm major who studied it as a BA and watched the collapse of the RF/music industries.

Agree to disagree. Streaming is so much more of our life now than even two years ago, including youtube streaming and general "google it" and find it streaming through different venues. There's been a explosion in sites looking to host data/video and most of it cannot be easily calculated. They often times don't count any youtube views because the unique viewer vs. repeat listens blah blah blah aspect. Spotify esp. also alters what many listen to consciously or sub-consciously because the way their rating systems can effect what you are recommended (a lot of people hit radio). So popular people multiply their listens, and it gets difficult for stations to do anything but take the combined numbers they are getting and buy discs that are most popular.

He could get LN Other, but idk about. Which though
LN Which would go to RTJ or a unique more classic act (in or outside of hip hop)
Honestly, the only hip hop artists I think could take LN Which are Future (who I hate) and The Roots (who I love). As much as I love RTJ, idk that they could even do LN Which. Every other realistic hip hop artist I can think of would either be a headliner or could be fit in a tent (though it may packed)

Sadly you're right. RTJ wouldn't pull (as much as i fucking loved their show in 2015). I saw their Coachella set online this year and there were noticeable gaps in the crowd. They work better in a tent anyway. I also think Future is too big for LN Which. That would be a shit show of epic proportion. I feel like Chance is begging for that spot. I think he fits that Tame Impala level of popularity that would draw the right size crowd for that time of night.

they had a huge crowd at Coachella on the main stage.

I mean it was big but I didn't think it was that large for a main stage crowd. I only saw the weekend 1 show and from what I remember it didn't go that far back (at the same time I don't have much to compare it too so take that for what it is). Either way I don't think it changes the point that they aren't at the level yet where they can hold a LN Which spot down.

You're completely right, he is perfect size for it and I've said that before but his name totally slipped my mind when I was writing the post. The Roots getting to close the LN Which with no curfew would be a dream, but Chance would be great. Though, I have seen Chance recently and I'm not THAT crazy about the new album, so there would probably be a different show I'd rather see.

A similar crowd would have packed the Which stage.

As much as I love RTJ, they aren't big enough for LN Which unless RTJ3 gets Drake, Weeknd, and Kendrick features. Rappers like ASAP Rocky, Chance, Kid Cudi, G-Eazy, Schoolboy Q, Kevin Gates, Fetty Wap, etc., are much bigger and more likely to get a LN Which spot.
Speaking of which, Q's new album is spectacular, regardless if it "flopped" or not. He would be a great #2 rap act.
I'm not really a fan of this, but i think G-Eazy in the Macklemore spot? Or at least pretty high up on the line up.
Didn't he play 2015? Hope he doesn't come back so soon.
Wouldn't be too surprising considering how much he's blown up since. Plus I think his latest album dropped after Roo but I'm not too well versed in G Eazy trivia

I can see it happening for sure. I just don't want it to.
