I'm getting really tired of Skepta cancelling fests I'm attending
Yeah him not making Lolla softened the blow for me having to cancel but that would suck if you were there. His shows over seas look next level crazy.
Planned on seeing him at Coachella and Lolla and both were cancelled haha. Joey Purp was a good replacement at Lolla but Coachella was just some female DJ whose name I never got and it wasn't announced before
One of my favorite rappers of all time who I'd love to see on Bonnaroo's lineup.
I imagine he'd definitely be billed top 25 right? Even if his recent albums haven't gotten tons of attention. He's still a pretty popular public figure these days.
Chance the Rapper, Schoolboy Q, Anderson .Paak, and Joey Badass just seem too obvious for next year. If we get those artists it'd already be an improvement from the last two years.

.Paak will (unfortunately) be in Europe opening for Bruno Mars during Roo. I'm also hoping for a return from RTJ and Action Bronson. I have no doubts we get a more mainstream or Trap type rapper this year. I'm hoping for Young Thug

If we have to get one or two trap rappers I'm hoping for Young Thug, Gucci Mane, or Rae Sremmurd. I hope they don't make trap or "mumble" rap their focus though. Like if they did the rap lineup like they did the EDM lineup last year.

For my tastes, I wish the Hip-Hop lineup would look something like this:
Chance the Rapper
2 of the 4:
A Tribe Called Quest Common De La Soul Masta Ace
One of the 2: T.I. Young Jeezy
3 of 4: Asap Rocky Pusha T Schoolboy Q Joey Badass
Rhymesayers Late Night Tent: Atmosphere, Brother Ali, P.O.S.
One of the 2: Royce the 5 9 Action Bronson
End up with something like: Chance, Tribe, T.I., De La, Pusha T, Schoolboy Q, Joey Badass, Rhymesayers Tent, Action Bronson.
But this isn't 2013.
2013 was a good year...I mean the hip hop lineup for Bonnaroo that year was perfect. Killer Mike, Earl Sweatshirt (even though he cancelled), Big Krit, Wu Tang Clan, Death Grips, Nas, Action Bronson, Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky...what the fuck happened Bonnaroo.

I think they lost a decent amount of ticket sales due to the hip-hop drop-off. Look at last year. I can't imagine that any person who calls hip-hop their favorite genre would have attended Bonnaroo based on the hip-hop.
Sure, Macklemore will draw a larger crowd at the festival, but who actually buys their ticket and goes to Tennessee because of Macklemore? A lineup like the one I wished for, would get thousands of hip-hop fans out to Tennessee.

I agree I don't even know why there's been such a drop off. It's not like Bonnaroo has any direct competition for Hip Hop acts like they do with a lot of indie rock acts. It's just lazy booking.

Oh man this would be great. Especially with a Royce addition. I've always wanted Slaughterhouse at roo and wondered why we haven't at least gotten ANY of them (besides Royce with Eminem). I think any one of them (Budden, Crooked-i, Joell Ortiz) would be a good fit.
I'm also thinking Dave East has a shot to be on the lineup. Nas and him are business partners etc. and we all know Nas is a consistent bonnaroovian.
It's official, Kenny Powers is now responsible for the hip hop portion of the lineup from here on out.
Also I do agree , the lack of hip hop was a big turn off for me last year.
Rittz Tech N9ne Lloyd Banks Schoolboy Q Fabolous are also some names that would be great on the farm IMO.

I saw Slaughterhouse at Rock the Bells a while back, right when they were coming out. Was pretty awesome. Seems like most of those guys are irrelevant now though. Can't imagine any being booked at Roo.
I guess it depends how you look at it. Irrelevant is not how I would describe them. To me a lyricist is never irrelevant until the lyrics are. obviously the billboard charts don't hold the same weight as the past. But far from irrelevant.
Also I would add Eric B and Rakim to my list. Although I read about one of their shows not being too entertaining. Hopefully they would switch it up for a big fest.
EDIT: This is more my wish list than realistically speaking. The realistic list would be:
Schoolboy Dave East Slick Rick (just a hunch as he's done a couple shows for LN) As well as some obvious choices.

Real question .....was Ludacris relevant in 2012?? I don't know if he had released anything in close proximity to bonnaroo or not? Tent was over packed to say the least lol.

Ludacris will always be relevant to people who grew up during his big run of hits.
Not sure who would attend any Slaughterhouse shows outside of very hardcore hip-hop fans. Maybe some people who know Budden from Pump it Up? I've heard all of their new stuff. Doesn't get me excited like it used to.

Lmao did you just reference pump it up. Lol.
I would think a slaughterhouse set would be a decent turn out.
