Since Hip Hop at Bonnaroo has seriously gone down in quality the past two years, who can they get to turn this around in 2017?
Chance the Rapper (obviously) Schoolboy Q Joey Badass (how has he not been booked?) A$AP Rocky De La Soul Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals Earl Sweatshirt Death Grips (if you still consider that hip hop, and that might be a long shot since their touring is so unpredictable) Action Bronson Pusha T Flatbush Zombies Underachievers The Roots Travis Scott (not sure if festivals still book this guy, I just want him to start a riot at Bonnaroo) Raury 2 Chainz (late night set) Lil B (secret very rare set)
My biggest wish as far as hip hop goes next year, is that they don't book any artists that only have one song, can't perform for an hour, and won't be popular for more than a year (aka no more booking artists like Post Malone or Dej Loaf....those were terrible decisions when there were so many better options)
Also I'd like to see some old school hip hop coming back, but I'm having a hard time coming up with artists that would fit that category.

I feel like Chance will be the highest booked hip hop act. Then they should also have Schoolboy Q and Anderson .Paak and Joey Badass. Classic I hope they go for Ghostface Killah or Nas again.

Yeah I'd say these are all feasible. Wu Tang is apparently working on a new album - if it's out by next year and they're touring, they would seem reasonable. Also, Flatbush Zombies have been doing fests lately, so I'd say they're a possibility. Danny Brown seems due back. I think Vic Mensa is also possible. He tours regularly, and if he drops his full length, he'll be promoting the shiz out of it. Mac Miller also likely.
Overall, I'd say getting Chance, Schoolboy, Paak, Danny Brown, Joey Badass, and Vic or Mac would be a HUGE step up compared to this year (J. Cole / Macklemore / Tyler / Vince Staple / Post Malone / Lizzo / GoldLink / who else??). If they can also get someone like Wu Tang, and then a couple solid producer/DJ type acts like Kaytranada/Lotus, then I feel like I'd be WELL BEYOND content.

Remember how a year ago everyone basically knew Tame Impala would play just because it made too much sense? I feel like that's how it is with Chance the Rapper this year. I think everyone is expecting Chance the Rapper to have his own set next year, and if he doesn't that would be one of the biggest fuck ups in Bonnaroo history. With that being said....it's possible he doesn't play. Maybe he'll have like a European tour that conflicts with Bonnaroo or something.

Chance has already said (though idk the gravity of it) that he'll be at Roo again next year. His tour for Coloring Book wraps up at the end of 2016 (Europe included). I'd say it's practically a lock that he gets a set.

There's a lot of names on here I dig. What would you guys say worst case would be? Can it plausibly be weaker than this year?

For the record, I really enjoy Lil Dicky. He's been around a couple years and a lot of his material is hilarious (on purpose). He also apparently puts on a fun show. I'd like to see him booked. Not the rest of the names you dropped though.
All things considered, I highly doubt we'll have a weaker hip hop lineup next year than we did this year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a solid (and dare I say, impressive) group. Suppose we'll see.

I think Chance and Schoolboy Q are very likely for next year. In terms of classic/old-school hip-hop, Jurassic 5 and De La Soul are both overdue. Neither group has played since 2005.

Ooh but Lil Dicky is a special kind of terrible. That'd be my nightmare if he got a prime slot
The probability of this happening though makes me sad. If we can at least get Chance, Anderson .Paak, Schoolboy Q, and maybe even Joey Badass....they can book whoever else they want as far as hip hop goes
