When I was super young, like 4ish, I was in love with Kenny Rodgers and his music. I thought every older man with a beard was him.
When my brother was at gymnastics and we were waiting for him there was this Kenny Rodgers looking guy, to me. I went up to him and asked him IF he was Kenny. He told me yes. I asked him, "where do you hide your money? Is it in a box in your closet?" He told me yes. I was on cloud nine. It's still one of my favorite memories, even though it wasn't really him.
There was a time when I was young that I listened to a lot of Kenny Rogers. He was very much the soundtrack to a family vacation to the Outer Banks in the early eighties. Seeing him at Bonnaroo put a nice bow on that.
