Take a bite of that turnbuckle for your boy George the Animal Steele dead at 79. Green tongue, a foreign object he'd juug you in the throat with, and mouthfuls of turnbuckle foam. RIP
Haha. That video has everything. Rene Goulet, Gorilla Monsoon, Lord Alfred Hayes, Miss Elizabeth, aggressive police. Haha. I loathe wrestling today, but that era was some great and hilarious shit

It really used to be fun. I have no interest in that world these days but back in the 80's...
I just found out that Stuart McLean, the host of one of my favorite radio shows, The Vinyl Cafe, died last week.
The show was kind of a Canadian Prairie Home Companion without all of the Guffman-esque community theater vignettes. It was nothing edgy or riotously funny, just gentle humor and Canadian folk music, perfect for listening to while walking the dog or out on a drive with the family. It was comfortable.
I'll miss him and the show.
If you're interested, here's kind of his most famous story from one of his shows:
Film historian Robert Osborne, the effervescent primetime host of Turner Classic Movies since the cabler’s inception in 1994, has died. He was 84.
My mom always watched lots of TCM, I can hear Robert Osborne's voice right now.
I love old movies. It is kind of my secret vice and I only do it when nobody is around to watch me get sappy and cry over that shit (thejeremy is aware of me doing so, just never actually seen it). I am seriously sad about him passing away. He was the introduction to all the movies, and would give background history on them.
I didn't know where else to put this. A friend from high school, Janella Usher, that helped me get through some of the roughest times back then passed away today. She was going through chemo and had an allergic reaction to a new medicine. The hospital did everything they could but she didn't pull through.
She was a light in the darkness, always positive, always optimistic and a treasure to be around. I am happy that she called me her friend and sadden by her passing. I am having a really hard time since finding out, but didn't really want to put this on the grrr or random thoughts and felt this thread was the best place. I hope she knows how she changed my life and that even though we haven't spoken in years that I still considered her a great friend. I honestly don't know if I would be here if it wasn't for her.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's always hard to lose someone, especially when they've had such a profound impact on your life. You're in my thoughts.
I looked at my watch and it was 1130, she called me back and she called me something dirty. You know why? You know why? You know why? I ain't gonna tell you why. Truly a crossover appeal from a segregated era.
That's one of those surprise ones where you think someone's already gone. I may have confused his death with Buddy Hackett's.
I mean he is 90 and hasn't done anything in awhile, so I guess that is understandable. All this does, is reminds me that we are all getting older, which means our idols are getting older, and that we will just see more and more death due to the fact.
