New Childish Gambino album is being released in September. The last album went gold. If this one does well I expect he'll headline or preheadline some fests next summer.

He has a new album already done. He previewed it to fans at Joshua Tree last month. No word on when it is being released though.
RTJ's resting state is frothing at the mouth red-eyed neck veins popping anger. It is extremely rare for an act like that to achieve headlining status. In fact the only band I can think of that would is RATM. I might be forgetting an act, please correct me if I'm wrong.
RTJ is headlining a Dutch niche festival (Best Kept Secret) this summer alongside Arcade Fire and Radiohead. Obviously they aren't at the same level, but it's a step in the right direction.

I love Thundercat. He's Highly talented but I'm pretty sure he will be perpetual midcard. I'll unfortunately only be able to catch 15 minutes of his/their set today due to Grizmatik conflict.
