so looking at the schedule for last year, it looks like it will be difficult to predict scheduling, other than the most popular names headlining the "red" stage. but it's not like they have a dedicated big room EDM stage, an experimental EDM stage, etc. kind of cool that they diversify the acts between stages, but at the same time i'd like to make educated guesses on what conflicts we'll have.

it's also at a different location.
true, but still 3 stages. then there is bjork's 5 room visual installation, wonder how that will fit into the layout puzzle.
with 3 stages i'd think the scheduling pattern would be similar, problem is there was very little pattern to the scheduling last year.
I just want to be able to see Aphex Twin, Bjork DJ set, Kaskade, Nick Murphy, Butthole Surfers, Blood Orange, Squarepusher, RZA, Oneohtrix Point Never, DJ Windows 98, and Welcome to Houston. So I just need them to create a perfect schedule for me with no hard choices.
Anybody know if Club Quarters charges for parking? I just booked a room at the Marriott suites, which is about $44 less per nite than the Club Quarters, but they charge $30/day for parking. Also, are there over-night parking garages in downtown Houston?

Marriot is $40 cheaper? Whats the nightly rate? Club Quarters must have jacked up their prices after we booked the shit out of it.
$109.99 for Fri and Sat, and $99.99 for Sun (two queen plus sleeper sofa)...I was going off the Club Quarter price of like $155 per nite for one bed with a sleeper sofa

Yes, they had a valet service that took your car to their garage. I don't remember the price... I wanna say $20/day? But I could be wrong on that in one direction or another.... Cap'n Mac , do you remember?
IFIRC there were also other parking garages in the area, but I don't think you could for extended periods of time (so you'd have to move your car at least once a day to get a new ticket) and I think they were a bit more spendy.
Help! I couldn't find the reference material on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I just saw some people on Facebook talking like it was going to sell out in the comments to some chump bragging about his groupon buy last year. They also noted their own "astonishment" at the people coming from outside of Houston. There are plenty of us on this forum alone not from Houston who will probably be attending. So what did I glaze over or miss?

They posted a map the other day of everywhere they've sold tickets so far. Idk about the sell out scare though. It does seem on track to sell out though. There is a fuck ton more hype and excitement behind it this year.

In reference to the Harambe memes being racist - I read an article yesterday saying to stop using or liking ALL Harambe memes because they are all racist. The rationale was because of the Leslie Jones comparisons and then it referenced Michelle Obama being called a gorilla.
I don't think we can go down a road of saying all references to apes are inherently racist. I don't understand why I think Harambe jokes are funny, especially since I was very angry when Harambe was killed in the first place, but I still like them for some reason. I guess maybe there is something about his name that aids in the humor? I doubt I'd think they were funny if his name was Robert. But I think that I would if his name was Buttons, or Bongo.

Unfortunately, as long racist people exist, the "ape" theme will always be used . I didn't even know Harambe was being used as racially charged slur. I don't see a connection to joking about the "legacy of harambe" and some dipshits using Harambe as bunt of their racially charged joke. Also, the degree and severity of these jokes must be very low since I've never come across one.
Ok, this is too much thought over a dead gorilla. #dicksoutforHarambe
This hotel is 1 mile from the venue and 55% off today. You can use the Pay Later option as well. Not sure if this is the one you all have been talking about, but a great deal none the less. I paid $199.
Showing $300 for 3 nights for me. Still more expensive than Club Quarters by about 80.
If you don't mind my asking, but what rate did you get for Club Quarters?
I'm really loving Thundercat and Kamasi Washington!!! The Kamasi set has me all kinds of excited to see him on Jam Cruise...especially now that he's been picked to lead one of the Jazz Rooms on the ship!
So all rooms in Club Quarters are single bed, with an option of sleeper sofa, no matter if it's a one or two room suite? Basically, no two bed rooms with a sleeper sofa...correct?

I'm going solo so far so I didn't really look too far into it. I just want to be there and be happy. My roommate may join in which we'll probably upgrade to I guess a 2 room suite.
