There you have it. This may only interest me at the moment, but I plan to gain at least 5-10 pounds this weekend between off-site and on-site dining. F'n right.
I'm curious if all the food vendors are going to run from 2PM-2AM?
Extending the Bjork exhibit is real cool of them, they really didn't have to do that, but I'm sure they shelled out the extra pay for it. Still complainers, like this epic douchenozzle:
"Registration? I paid almost $400 for two wristbands. What registration? I've promoted bands in Houston for many years at many venues and performed at Numbers a few times after winning at LA music awards and played at SXSW. And a music editor for an inflight mag. Wtf? Queue? I have to register to see what I paid for? I'm a huge Bjork fan. I need to experience this as it's why I purchased the wristbands."
I really can't wrap my head around the entitled outrage... over a TWENTY MINUTE art exhibit, within a two day music festival that has a stacked-ass line-up, and several other exhibits to experience. Virtual Reality is neat and all, but if that's all you were going and paying for, you made a mistake before finding out whether they had limited access or not.
I'm worried about an Aphex Twin weather cancellation too. By all means, please ditch this Soulection amateur business and move him to the Blue Room indoors.
I'm not sure I could handle an Aphex Twin cancellation after having Levitation gut me this year. Not even going to entertain that thought!
NWS has a 50% chance of precipitation Saturday night into Sunday morning. Thankfully doesn't look to be severe or with high rain totals. Looks like the rain will be gone for Sunday, but will be cold as shit.
That food looks great, definitely excited to try some of those.
And yes, so many of those people on FB are absurd. They expect everything right now and blow everything out of proportion. Hoping they just stay home.

Not quite sure how where they're predicting rain from this weekend, it definitely wont be coming from the west and there aint shit in the gulf at the moment.
Looks like return flow out of the Gulf ahead of a developing front that moves through Saturday before the temperature drops. It's cold behind that (teens in Dallas, negatives in Chicago 30s parts of Sunday in Houston). 18Z US Model has a lot of light rain and the front but it looks like the stronger shit is more north and east of Metro Houston into SW LA. Who knows? It's just gonna mean I gotta pack a raincoat and then some layers.
He'll definitely be out for Thundercat, because at FlyLo's ACL Weekend 2 birthday set, he brought out THundercat (who wasn't on the bill either) and they took shots together. I expect there to be payback.
He will probably come out for Kamasi Washington as well. -- Hell, Thundercat too.
And curious if Aphex Twin will let FlyLo come out or let him play along, as A.T. is known for being a major influence for F.L.
he probably just wants to see aphex twin. but coming out with thundercat seems likely.
I cut Thundercat's set short to see Bjork VR. But that's okay. I've seen him, and I've seen part of Flying Lotus at Bonnaroo 2015. Should be great either way. Got the rental car booked, so I will be picking that up at 9:00 tomorrow morning. We're going to try to get on the road for about 9:30/10ish and get to Houston in the early afternoon. Papa Charlie's BBQ or El Real Tex Mex (thanks jabco) are on the early agenda before the NBA game. We're not doing much else on Friday night, though we might go find a place to drink in the neighborhood we're staying in else we'll just go back to the house and throw down there. Weather looks to be all over the place. We're close enough now where the forecasts are already in focus and should be getting better each time they update.
It looks like the warm front comes back out the Gulf on Friday with highs around 79 or so on Saturday. Cold front comes through at night with thunderstorms and showers and low is about 40 Saturday night. It looks like most of the storms are done by Midnight. If it gets bad, I don't know if they will have to temporarily suspend the sets or if they're going to shut it down for a while. I still think the worst will be northeast of Houston, but there's a shot at a brief heavy shower or two ahead of and with the front.
Sunday is mostly sunny and high about 44 and windy as shit. Sunday night has a low of 33 which is colder than anything I've seen yet this year. So Brrrr on that shit, but layers should help.

I suspect Bjork's DJ set / SOPHIE / Arca are gonna be crazy packed because of this.
Anybody who has been thinking about getting a ticket, or is interested in upgrading to a +Friday pass -- www.ebay.com/itm/262750660788 -- If I could swing it, I would totally do it, that's a steal.

Glad to hear about them extending the VR thing. Major lolz @ that being the main reason to come to this festival. Geez. I would rather have a straight up Bjork set than DJ + VR x10000000.
Hopefully this weather ain't too crazy Saturday. As Esteban said I would hope they bump Soulerection off and give Aphex the indoor set if weather got bad. Hard to imagine them not doing that.
I'm so ready to see Ariel Pink and Surfers again. They've been about all I've listened to for a month. Ready to move on lol
Aw playa, gonna eat me some Kangaroo! My boi rocko was like "tss tss tss" on this 'Roo that was choking his dog out, I'm gonna eat one up good to show support.
Good news is that now the weather predictions don't have it raining during the day Saturday. Bad news is that it's like 80% of rain during Run the Jewels/Aphex Twin. And still freezing Sunday
LMFAO. Bow up and punch that motherfucker in the face. I'm surprised that dog submitted, though I know kangaroos are strong. I would have more expected it to bite the fuck out of it to get away, but he didn't.
They had Rudolph, Kangaroo and Bambi last year. Of those, I have not ever eaten Kangaroo but I have had Elk and Deer. I'm guessing they will bring those burgers back this year maybe? The website for the restaurant says they have: Water Buffalo, Bison, Venison, Antelope, Elk, Camel, Kangaroo, Goat, Ostrich, Lamb, Wild Boar, Pheasant, Rabbit, Duck, Iguana, Python (lmfao), Alpaca, llama and Alligator. "All of our meats are all natural and free range! We use high quality meat products free of growth hormones, antibiotics or preservatives. Fuck, they even have a drive-through window. Hahahahaha. This place is a veritable Vegetarians Delight!!!
I grew up finicky though I ended up being pretty open minded about food provided it's not eggs or rotten-level cheese. I have to be drunk to try extreme shit, though I have had rattlesnake stew (tasted as bad as you would think it would) and barracuda which was actually great. Off their menu, I've only ever eaten wild boar, pheasant, alligator, duck and rabbit (which I do not like at all).
Tack on 30-35mph winds, that's fucking cold. I don't know where you live, and maybe it doesn't bother you either way. But 38 is about the coldest I've seen this year. And I wasn't standing out in it for hours, only 3 minutes to smoke half a cigarette. Admittedly, I'm a ****y when it comes to the cold.
Well hanging outdoors for hours at a time with wind gusts of close to 20 mph is going to get chilly, especially for those of us living below the 30th parallel north.
Sorry I was reading Facebook comments from people acting like the 45 degree weather was going to ruin the fest and was somehow Day for Nights fault so they got me a bit feisty. Carry on y'all.
LMAO. I hope not too. I was just thinking that the only heavy jacket I have is a wool overcoat which I'm not about to wear at a festival. I don't own any beanies or any gloves, though one of my hoodies has a hand pouch on the stomach. I'm debating on whether I should leave and go to Wally World to get a pair of gloves or just blow it off and deal with cold hands and the fact that I only have to work for another 4 hours and 32 minutes. Then it's just laundry, digging in the cold weather drawers to find long sleeve layers and packing. Damn I'm ready to gtfo.
