This is where things get tricky. If you see a party, RSVP to it. If you get a wristband, you will be ahead of the general public but not badgeholders. I would also arrive to this early! If you have your heart set on this, get there for the first act or at least scope it out and stay close by. But RSVP. Some venues won't let badgeholders/wristband in unless your RSVP. Some will.
Monday is the first day of music so it may not be TOO wild....but then again it could. The best strategy is find a day and/night party with the most artists youd like to see ajd commit. Especially without a badge because come nighttime, most showcases will be a capacity.
I'm trying out the RSVPter for the first and probably only time. It's does all the work for every party. I haven't noticed of they did it for this one yet but I have a ton of RSVPS for other stuff.

It says that badgeholders get priority so a wristband might be helpful but also might not be. Its not an official sxsw event so they can pretty much do whatever they want. Hopefully I'll be able to get into this after work. Sylvan Esso, Mothers, Lizzo would be a nice monday night.
Also, I don't see the RSVP? Am I blind or do you just say you're going on the fb event?

Sometimes you just say you're going to the event on facebook. Sometimes they're strict on rsvp, credentials, ect. Sometimes they're not. It's a cluster fuck of a system.
Yeah I know. I was specifically asking if I was missing an actual rsvp for the AV club or if it was just the fb page. Hype hotel and fader fort were the only things last year where they actually checked to see if I was rsvp'd
I haven't noticed anything other than the Facebook page. Going to be weird w no Fader this year. It was a nice stop for some free vodka around 2pm and some midly decent standup.

I will try for that one for sure, but Scoot Inn is real small, so we'll see....
Also, I got one of the free "guest wristband" thing? no idea what it is, but we'll see.. still don't know if i want to do the paid wristband thing, i'm just poor
I really can't decide whether or not to buy a wristband. I did only free stuff last year, but I won't be able to go to as many day events this year. I'm just not sure if I will get my money's worth.
