With this lineup, I'm not sure if you stand much of a chance of getting in with a wristband if you show up 30 minutes before the event begins. It really depends on how they do admission though. Sometimes badges and wristbands are in the same line and it's just first come first served amongst that whole group and other times wristbands are broken out into separate lines. I'm not sure which they'll do here.

I've gone to their showcase the last two years with a badge and with friends that didn't have badges, it should be no problem to get in if youre there an hour or so before Sylvan Esso. It's usually around like $30 for people without wristbands or badges.
We got in before the first act in 2015, none of us had badges or anything. 2016 my friend didn't have anything and got in during the second act. i had a badge and got in right before Anderson Paak started, but that was because i was at another show right before that.
Its at Stubb's........Stubb's is huge, plus there is so much going on, the later it is ,I find its easier to get in. Cleared out by then (on peeps that get there earier/8pm ish).

Nice, didn't expect this to happen this year. I expect I'll be here if I'm off from work.
Spin's annual showcase at Stubbs drops Friday. Last year it had Deftones, Vince Staples, Anderson .Paak, among many other big names. They always come with the heavy hitters.
Only thing im pretty set on so far is the DC w Wu Tang and Thievery, Future Islands at Mohawk, and seeing if I can get into !!! At the SX opening party before WeDC.
If you look at thensxsw websites artist pages, they only show one or two of their shows....but when you favorite them, then look at all your favorites, it shows more slots. !!! has 2 other performances.

Hadn't had much time to pay attention to what's going on lately, but surprised fader fort, hype hotel and spotify house all dropped off. I would guess the bill for alcohol for those shows was pretty pricey, but no clue if that was part of the reason. I haven't even hardly looked into what to do this year yet. Need to make sure my friend has space at his crib now.
Good luck to anyone without a badge trying to get into Future Islands at Mohawk. Get there early for certain.
I saw !!! close out hype hotel a few years back and it was greatness.
Any idea if there are any spotify playlists out there for this year yet?
