Will it be more difficult to see Future Islands on Thursday at pandora or Friday at Mohawk? I was planning on dedicating my night to seeing them on friday but then they announced the thursday show and now I don't know what to do.
There wasn't a large demand to see their free late night show at Fun Fun Fun '15, for what it's worth.

What venue is Pandora at? Mohawk is a pretty good size but not huge and depending on who else is on the bill it will fill up fast. The Pandora showcase is stacked and well publicized so I think Mohawk may still be the better option? But I'm just taking a guess without knowing the other venue...

Pandora is at the Gatsby. I've never been there. leaning towards the Mohawk show since its at Mohawk, the rest of the bill is decent and I'll take every opportunity I can to avoid 6th.
Yes indeed. Sidewinder is a small venue though. I was worried there would be a line around the block when I arrived about 30 minutes before the first act, but there were only about 5 people hanging out. It was funny that Alvvays spent about half their set time sound checking then Future Islands came out and said they hadn't played a show in two months and were like, "F it. Let's play" with basically no sound check. Afterwards I walked over to the Vulcan for that great Gesaffelstein show. I remember walking into that dark club with people lining the walls and some girl telling me "we're all vampires here." Anyhow, I'm just rambling now. What a great night.
Saw A Giant Dog last night. They're playing like 3 or 4 more shows in the coming days of this madness. Check em out. Also see their side project, Sweet Spirit. They play at Barracuda next Saturday (18th).
Met Nick Offerman tonight and heard a Thats What She Said Joke. Random band called Naked Giant played in the Long Center lobby who'd Def fit in with you fans of Levitation. Decent evening altogether for working.
It's on my Austin bucket list to see someone famous this weekend. My friend works at a bar and saw Kirsten Dunst apparently shit faced in there tonight with no security around her... I haven't seen a single celebrity my entire time in Austin and I'm moving soon, so i feel like this is my best chance for that!
It's looking like work might stifle my SXSW plans. The current job I'm on keeps dragging on with new issues, thought it would be done last week. At this point, it looks like Thursday might be the first day I can do, but that could easily get pushed back depending on how things go out here the next day or two.
Hoping to still make the Levitation showcase on Thursday and Black Angels on Friday morning at the Four Seasons.

I didn't see it since it was full but I heard it was just good. Pretty similar to the first one. But hey, NOSTALGIA THO. I'm going to see it when it comes out.

SOHN into Sylvan Esso at Mohawk was one of the best 1-2s I've seen in a long time. Fucking incredible. After the show this fat homeless chick with her bare tits out came up and asked for some of the fries I was eating out a trash can. I gave her a bunch.

Totally forgot about the Saturday auditorium shores show. That seems less likely but would also be less likely to result in a riot. There's also that sketchy rsvp that was going around. Lol
