I was trying to put together a quick mock schedule since we now know the days and noticed we have 2 more artists on Friday than last year and 2 fewer artists on both Saturday and Sunday. I am sure that Modern Baseball accounts for one of those missing (surprised they didn't announce a replacement along with the daily lineups). Will be interesting to see how they do with those extra gaps, maybe spread things out and remove some overlaps.

Sunday is incredible for me. I want to see 9 of the top 11 names.
Saturday is a little better than Friday for me, mainly because of Sturgill/LCD back to back. But both are a little lacking cause 50% of my interests are on the last day.
My feelings for Saturday are all about LCD Soundsystem, though. I like Sturgill, Phantogram, Lucy Daucus, Classixx and Cashmere Cat, but Mr. Murphy and Co. are so awesome in a live setting!
From an e-mail today - Stay tuned... official late-night shows are hittin' your inboxes on Tuesday, April 25! We've got some extra special performances lined up to keep your weekend rockin' long after the lights on the Waterfront go down. Forecastle weekend pass and daily ticket holders will gain access to an exclusive presale code to purchase late-night tickets before the public on sale Friday, April 28 at 10am ET. Make sure to secure your Forecastle weekend or daily passes before Monday, April 24 at 11:59pm ET to score the code!
Phantogram -> Sturgill Simpson -> LCD Soundsystem would be a pretty awesome evening.
Yea I remember looking at the lineup when it came out and not being that impressed, but the schedule works out to be able to see some good music each day.

Nothing too major on the conflicts for me. Unfortunately missing Phantogram/Vince Staples for the prime Sturgill/LCD spot. Starting to get pumped for my first time in Louisville!
Friday: Twin Limb > Chicano Batman > Real Estate > wander/bourbon > RTJ > Odesza

Cashmere/Judah/Mandolin (Vaguely familiar with each. Advice?)
I actually don't know about any other than Cashmere Cat is supposed to be pretty good. But on more thought, I'm thinking about just camping after Nathaniel Rateliff for a good Sturgill spot. It will suck to walk away from that good spot for a side show before LCD though. So...who knows

You may be right on hanging after Nathaniel. Never been to this fest so not really sure what hanging by the main stage is like.

I showed up at the end of sharon jones in 14. Did band of horses> jack white and got about 8th row. Thats my only anecdote. Day before i showed up at the end of 21 pilots before outkast and was like 25th row.
So this festival is still happening. I finally got tickets on Monday!
Ummmmm I hope we get a longer Sturgill set than the 12 songs he played at Beale Street. The new LCD songs are good but haven't blown me away yet. Spoon vs Tycho still sucks. Phantogram vs Vince Staples still sucks.
It's breaking into the 90s next week for the first time. I would love to have a randomly cold year at Forecastle. Come on climate change, help me out.
And...even with the shitty lineup I'm kinda sad I'm not at Bonnaroo right now.

5 weeks til Forecastle!
I went to my fourth Bonnaroo this year, second time volunteering (the only way I can justify going now since its free and has many perks) and though I admit I had a good time and saw some fantastic shows, it wasn't my favorite and definitely lost a lot of what Roo special (insane cop presence in campgrounds, no music after 3am). If the lineups continue to be lackluster I'm probably going to skip out next year.
That being said, I'm from Kentucky and I'm doing my first 3-day pass at Forecastle this year (My first year was last year but I only went Saturday). This year's lineup is incredibly more consistent and I have little to no conflicts besides Spoon v Tycho, but I saw Tycho at Roo '15 but missed Spoon so it's not a huge deal to me

Starting to get really excited for this as well! First time in Louisville, what are some must have eats?
Close to the festival:
Against the Grain - Craft Beer and Pub Food (favorite beer in the city) Feast - BBQ (fried pickles and pork sandwiches are awesome) Impellizzeri's - Pizza (I recommend the deep dish sicilian as long as you have enough people to have no leftovers. It's insanely filling) Quill's - Coffee Royals - Chicken (I haven't had it yet, but Vince Staples gave it a pretty great yelp review. pitchfork.com/news/64272-vince-staples-yelp-reviews-kentucky-chicken-restaurant/
Deeper into the city:
Stout - Gourmet Hamburgers and great beer menu Hammerheads - Pub/Southern (only open after 5 p.m. each day but worth it if you are here Thursday) The Post - medium priced pizza by the (huge) slice Taco Luchador - ....tacos Ramiro's - all things mexican Hilltop Tavern - Great beer selection and pretty good drunk food
Louisville actually has amazing food to choose from. Any of these options should hit the spot.

I'd also recommend Doc Crow's. It's a good smokehouse a short walk away from the festival grounds. My wife and I have made it a tradition to stop in there every year. We also have taken friends there for the first time, and they walk away raving about it.
