It keeps threatening to rain on Friday, so we'll see how that goes. But temps in the high 80s isn't TOO bad, considering its supposed to be 95 here on Wednesday. So we may luck out on the heat at least.

My wife and I are going to get into town on Thursday, so we may hit up Against the Grain. In the past, we always drove in Friday and felt hurried, so we decided to change it up this year.
So Friday, its raining. But if you look at the details, its 90% in the morning and 40% at night. So we may luck out for the big shows. And it brings the temperature down for Saturday/Sunday.

Ah that's a bummer but here's to hoping it ain't too bad! Only one more day of work then officially Louisville bound!

Has there been a rainy weekend before? Anyone have tips on how the grounds will be following the rain? Last year at LouFest it rained a ton the couple days before and we had huge mud pits on the first day, it was crazy. Just wondering if I should re-think my shoe choice for Saturday.

it seems to storm at least once every year. Most of the time, it absorbs rain pretty fast but I'd be prepared for some mud.
The bigger issue is that if the storms get bad, they have the habit of shutting down the festival until the storm passes. It would not surprise me if storms earlier in the day pushed the set times back some. But just a wait and see sort of situation.

That's so true, lightning in the area and they will evacuate the festival grounds, they did both last year and 4 or 5 years ago. Good news is both times they did this, all shows and performances were pushed back and nobody was missed, except for Sam Smith on a Saturday in which it started storming after he had started. That didn't bother me anyway, I was already leaving when he started, I'm not a fan of his. I certainly don't mind them pushing times back and lasting later into the night, some other places wouldn't think about doing that and we would miss out on whatever time slots were effected by the storm, and they would then begin with the band that's scheduled at that particular time slot. Forecastle has done a good job with adjusting times on the fly. I've never noticed it to be muddy, wet yeah but not muddy.

Rain isn't a bad thing, if it brings those temps down. It's been too Damn HOT the last few years, mid to upper 90s each day with feel like temps well into the 100s. Upper 80s is sounding great. For those who have not gotten a VIP or Bourbon pass, the Bourbon pass is well worth it, air condition tent alone is worth it, but also much better restrooms, a place to chill out, Bourbon and a couple of other food options.
Saturday is gonna be a game time decision for me. Still hoping.
WHY !!! Saturday looks to be really good weather wise, and in my opinion the best day of the 3 for great shows all day, and I like all 3 days. Good times ahead for this weekend, maybe some of you would like to meet up for a drink 1 day. I'm sure we would have some great stories from the past and maybe make some new ones for future Fests to come. Who's in ?

rains down to 60% on Friday and mostly in the morning. That's about as good as I can ask for. We also got the only days under 90 degrees in 15 day stretch. So I'm pretty happy. Now just have to get through two more days of work.

Can someone tell me what the Bourbon Lodge is like? I'm old enough to go this year so I bought a pass and it says I get 15 tickets? Is each ticket a drink?

No. Each ticket has a "value" inside the tent. For example, a shot of a certain liquor will be a certain amount of tickets, example 5 tickets for a shot/drink, etc.

If you like bourbon, it's a nice festival touch. They'll have different offerings set up inside the air conditioned tent, like Four Roses, and you can get tastings straight or on the rocks. They also have a mixing bar set up in the center where you can pay a ticket to get it turned into a mixed drink. The nice thing is you can get tastings of more limited edition/pricey options. Aside from the bourbon lodge, the Gonzo Bar is another near touch. It specializes in different mixed drinks.

It's a hot one out here today. Good idea to stay hydrated. By the way, my wife got the GA Plus and it's with it just to pop in and out of the air conditioned tents.

RTJ was the highlight of the weakest day. They killed it. Odesza & Capital Cities were both fun. What So Not and Giraffage bring up the rear. Really good day tho
I always wanted to hear Ur City's a Sucker, and hear them finish w Yeah. Movement was killer. Last night was AWESOME. Yes, that was their first encore at a festival.
