Fucking Grizmatik. That just elevated Buku by a factor of 5. Tycho and Grizmatik is as good as Buku is gonna be.
I'd go just for them. That's a monster add. Got a feeling Buku has a few more up their sleeve
Yeah I hope so. I need a legacy rap act or Run the Jewels again. I just saw Travis Scott at Day 4 Night, and while the crowd was into it, too much auto tune for me.
Edit also since GRiZ and Gramatik are in town, one or both will hopefully be doing an aftershow.
One of my kids got a card. I haven't looked at the back but I will find it and shoot it and edit this into the post. Clearly the card is Gramatik and Griz so that says "Grizmatik" to me unless they plan to issue another card or if they can't say Big G is going to be there yet. Front says "Electrosoul Devastators"

Could be suck, could be good. Maybe with Coachella and Bonnaroo out, they can name some more shit. Big G maybe? Idk. Best guess is they drop a few more acts before the confirmation of the final release. It says keep refreshing all day for surprises. I don't really know how much more budget they have or plan to spend. But I would appreciate Conspirator, Run the Jewels and Method Man. (Twitter wants Flatbush Zombies)

I saw this as well. It would have to be a huge get for me to buy tickets at this point. Like Run the Jewels, Avalanches and Wu-Tang huge.

Ah well, you can't win them all VC. RTJ ruled at Day For Night. They ruled at Buku last time they were there. They ruled at Bonnaroo. They will rule again. Plus Grizmatik and Tycho. I'll take those 3 as my headliners all day over Mumford, 21 Pilots and Frank Ocean. The rest of the lineup, well I'll see some rap and a few DJ sets and I guess. Thundercat, DJ Soul Sister, Young Thug, Sleigh Bells, Vince Staples, Washed Out, Nina Kraviz, Troyboi, The Floozies, Alina Baraz, Ghastly b2b Herobust, Rezz, Car Seat Headrest, San Holo, Big Wild, Opiuo, Minnesota b2b Space Jesus, Kaiydo, Boogie T and Ekali.
^^^ Works for me.
ROAR! <--- haha. I love Roar! Last time I saw them, they were a 2 piece at Bayou Boogaloo.
I also had no idea Hundred Waters played in 2013. I first saw them Voodoo 2014 I think.

Oh I know they rule, I have seen them three times already but will go to every single one of their shows if possible. That really blows because Run The Jewels, Sleigh Bells, Washed Out, Car Seat Headrest are definitely NOT enough for me to shell out $200.
I'm not going to the Zeds Dead show on Friday, but I'd definitely consider the Gramatik, GWN, Space Jesus show on Saturday depending on what they have at Joy Theatre. Assuming GRiZ would be doing a show or maybe hosting a super jam or something? TBD!
Edit - Gramatik is at The Joy. I'll probably go to that.
Day-by is out as well as a limited number of single day tickets. I've heard some rumors of Run the Jewels wanting to add another show which would have to be a night show. I'd be all over that though I'll believe it when I see it. For me, and I'll have to wait for the schedule, it's going to be:
Friday - Grizmatik, Young Thug, Sleigh Bells, Troyboi, Thundercat, Car Seat Headrest, Big Wild, Shiba San b2b San Holo, Kaiydo, Roar!, Ekali
If Run the Jewels was in town a day early, I could see them (or GRiZ) getting The Joy 1am show on Friday.
Saturday - Run the Jewels, Tycho, Vince Staples, Washed Out, Ghastly b2b Herobust, The Floozies, Minnesota b2b Space Jesus, Ganja White Night, Solange's Saint Heron Showcase
Gramatik late show
This is, going in, an underrated weekend as far as the music and the party.
I'm hearing GRiZ will be doing the Joy after show on Friday. Only way I possibly don't go is if Tycho or RTJ end up at Republic.
just wanna tell you to check your expectations on Griz this time around. I have seen him like 5 times and enjoyed it each time UNTIL the last show (NYC on NYE.) It blew, never touched his sax and just sounded like some of the most generic, awful womb womb edm I've ever witnessed in person. I hope he doesn't make a habit of that and you enjoy yourself. I am just letting you know so that you aren't blind sided like I was.

His NYC NYE set was also advertised as a (DJ Set) which means he doesn't play any sax. His DJ sets are totally different which is why you probably hated it. But it was advertised as a DJ set so I'm not sure what you were expecting.

ah, gotcha. well, considering his usual, (apparently) "live," sets are just him DJ'ing and then playing a lil sax over it, I didn't expect such a change in style (and drop in quality IMO.) Despite being quite dissatisfied with the show, I didn't care too much because I just snuck in the show and dodged that absurd ticket price.

We saw him a month or so before at Mardi Grad World and it was fantastic. He was with Muzzy and it was mostly live rather than just dj'ing. Didn't he do another show on NYE and fly up there for a second? I could have sworn I read that somewhere. I've seen him probably 9 times and they were all great, but definitely thanks for the warning.
Read the other posts since I started to post this an hour ago. That makes sense. When he plays here he usually brings out other live performers he records with when he comes to the city to do studio work, usually every 3 or 4 months.
