The fact that this thing appears to be very undersold is actually great.
There's not a ton of space in that Parking Lot, so any additional breathing room would be welcomed. I was only there Saturday last year but the crowdedness of Sunday sounded scary.
Really wasn't that bad unless you insist on being close.
But being up close for your favorite act is what it's all about...
Bummer about Swet Shop Boys dropping but if this somehow means we can switch up the MIA Gorillaz conflict that'd be great
Unfortunately no. They just moved Dams of the West up to clash with Public Access TV, and Youngr up to clash with Jacob Banks. Mike Floss is opening the day unopposed.
I would expect these tickets to tank with the amount still sitting for cheap on StubHub/Vivid. Ironically, lots of contests too.
Thats really surprising, considering it has such a strong top 3. Have any of the days or 3 day passes sold out?
It's just weird how Govball would sell better than this. This venue is sooo much easier to get to than Randall's Island.
The change of dates hurt. Selling festival tickets in the thick of summer is tough (see Panorama). They didn't have enough time after Labor Day to promote. It will be packed on Friday and Sunday (still a chance Friday sells out).

Getting in Friday could turn into a clusterf*ck quickly. One entrance, Jay-Z day, everyone getting in around the same time after work/school. Kudos to them for doing the Irving Plaza will-call all week. I assume I can do the Everfest swap here?
Meadows Week! So excited for Blood Orange in the dark on Friday on a small stage. Gonna be a dance party.
Fuck it's so shitty and understandable and deserved that Jay is playing unopposed. I wanna get a good spot for him but I've missed chances to see Dev like twice over the past year. I really thought RTJ would be in BO's spot, with BO leading into Jay

For 90%of the New York area it's probably harder
How so? For Long Island people they can just take the LIRR there. People in Queens can obviously take the 7 train, bus, or short taxi ride. And anyone in Manhattan can transfer to the 7 as well.
Anyone potentially interested in Sunday VIP cheap? I have a 3 day wristband and it's looking like I might have to miss Sunday. I could meet after the fest Saturday night and would sell for $125. Pm if interested

Citifield is on a totally different line than almost all of long island. You have to take the train to Woodside and transfer. Most of Queens isn't near the 7, you have to either go into Manhatten and back into queens or take the g on the weekend. Trust me, citifield isn't that easy at all.
Also, Meadows is in a parking lot, instead of a grassy island. That matters to some people
Tickets are now down to $135 on Stubhub. This fest turned into quite the value, nice!
BTW, are there any fests that don't have tickets on the secondary market going for anywhere between 20-60% off now? Coachella W1 always holds its value, but usually dips down to face value, W2 you can sometimes find for $10-30 below face a couple days before. Lolla, Roo, Ultra, Gov, Boston Calling, Wayhome, and Electric Forest W2 all dropped below face in the days and weeks before. Anyone think fests will do something to counteract this? If so, what options are out there?

Book a better lineup
Maybe American Apparel has some lineup ideas that can also help sell jeans.

The college students will be showing up any minute now

Picked up my everfest vip pass at Irving Plaza last night. Def recommend it to avoid will call on Friday.
Good thing the goal isnt to sell tickets for third party vendors.
There's nothing about a certain number of tickets left - just that there "going fast".
Why would I believe this when all other signs point to the opposite? You're the one who points out all Panorama ticket giveaways as signs of bad sales. My friend just won FOUR tickets to this from DoNYC on a contest that was only to win 2.

It is pretty obvious at this point that the fest isnt selling as great as hoped. But they did sell out of Sunday VIPs. Friday and Sunday single days are doing well from what I hear. (I think Saturday is by far the best day so I am surprised that its not moving as well as hoped.. Guess people care a lot more about RHCP and Jay Z than Gorillaz).
If you want to compare this to Panorama; the capacity for this fest is 50k. The capacity for Panorama is 40k. They arent doing nearly as bad as Panorama. If the argument is that this fest isnt doing well because of the lineup. Then I guess Panorama's lineup was way worse? I think both lineups are solid. In both cases it is because outdoor events don't sell too well in NYC during the summer months. Pushing this to two weeks after the unofficial end of summer left a shorter window.
Festivals that have less people are generally more of a fun time. Easier to get a good spot for shows and lines aren't as crazy. Congrats to your friend. This will be a fun weekend.

All good. It'll be a blast and I hope Meadows is successful. Just find the third party ticket prices super interesting and fascinating. I bought right away because I thought this would sell out fast: Jay-Z, Gorillaz and RHCP are all huge names - and then seeing the crowd size for acts like Future and Migos had me thinking they were huge draws.
On another note - it's 2 days out so the stages must be going up. Would love to see some photos of some luscious green turf shoulda went to the Yankees game at Citi today to check it out.
