I assume the Blue Ridge Bowl is no longer BYOB?
It is somewhat odd to see only 5 acts for the main stage on Saturday and 7 Sunday. My guess is Widespread will get some sort of mega long set like they did at Sweetwater.

Bobby's Campfire Band tour shirts this round said Arrington, VA on them, so I am assuming they will be added to Saturday if Bobby is already there Friday and Sunday.
I'm leaning towards tent camping now. Looks like a short walk from the parking to camping and the most central/close location. Save $70 for a little walk works for me.
On a work conference call so unable to watch the the live FB Q&A but notes from the Lockn' board:
Running 10am-2am with main turntable stage and Blue ridge Bowl stage No BYOB at Blue Ridge No more bands to be added to Saturday New physical space is larger (really?) More water for the showers. Looking to add Donna for the Terrapin set pending her voice issues. Mule with Ann Wilson will be doing a lot of Zeppellin

I hope I get to meet up with some of y'all this year...cuz god knows my wife is not gonna be up for anything post-JRAD. Let's be real, though, she prob won't even make it TO anything after midnight. Be good to hang with some of ya
So car or tent camping? With the new map, tent camping look to be most central and close and you save a few bucks but not lugging my shiz around sounds great too. Thoughts?

You going on your own or you gonna have help to lug if? Last year it was so damned hot I did tent camping and I felt like my life was gonna end out there in the sun. That said, I'll probably do it again if I bring my wagon

There will be at least two of us. Likely with two wagons.
I'm trying to put together a playlist for myself, but I've never listened to SCI or Widespread Panic and figured some of y'all might have an idea of good tracks to include or good live releases I should check out from either/both.

I have never liked the thought of doing an outdoor camping festival away from the car me/my group brought in. Nice to have the car charger for the cell phone and sneak an hour of AC here and there. Traveling from the car to a different camping spot with all your supplies just seems miserable as well. I can see how people make it work (especially with a wagon), but I don't think it would be for me.

Can't really speak for SCI (enjoyed the shows I have attended but never really got into the catalog) but for Widespread, I would start with Light Fuse Get Away. Live album that includes a lot of fan favorites.

SCI has their normal hits like Colorado Bluebird Sky, Rivertrance, etc. but the thing about them is they can play anything and any style. Live sets will vary set to set and also within sets. You'll get mountain jam, folk, southern inspired and even some progressive. You won't be disappointed. They pretty much rule. Their drummers have a live EDM side project know as EOTO and that rules too. I'd say watch or skim through some live streams on YouTube. Wakarusa 2014's were good. The 2016 Hulaweens were good (night shows the best). I'll say this, they are one of the few bands ever to get me to cry live when they brought out Blind Boys of AL.

Agree with Esteban. When SCI hit it, it can deliver you to a different plane (no chemicals needed). If they can get my wife dancing for 3 hours (and she hates jam) that should tell you something.
^^ Yeah, I just saw them sporadically for a long time, but recently they've become a can't miss for me. I still don't really know the catalogue at all, but they deliver live. I mean, two Hula's in a row and haven't skipped a set even when I planned to walk away early.
I hadn't seen Cheese since a 2005 show in Rochester. Then I caught them at Peach last year doing their own set and the Allman Brothers Family Incident and both were amazing. Looking forward to seeing them again.

...you didn't see the Hangout set?
2013 was my first year at Hangout. I wish they got around the Northeast more but I can't complain because we get every other jam band, one off and collaboration up there that doesn't hit anywhere else.
