Seems odd. I can remember in the FB live Q&A with Frey, somebody asked about capacity...his answer was more or less it's not an issue they will have to worry about or pay attention to.
I'm fine with the 15K cap if true. Not too crowded at camp nor a far walk, and easy to get around shows.
I remember those comments...my impression was they could handle any size...doubting a cap that low.

Yeah I agree with that and that was what I was getting at. The number was given to him somewhere. He was probably told, look we're only going to have 15k so we're getting rid of you. The rest is kind of a joke.

Sour grapes is an understatement. The dude shits on UVA throughout the whole letter and ends it with "All that's left to do is wish our good friends and colleagues from UVA good luck for a safe and successful festival." I have a hard time believing the financial impact with not working Lockn is as great as he made it sound, and if it is....then bad managing on their part to be so reliant on a once-a-year music festival.
Also, I have a hard time believing UVA promised them they would turn down any offer that came from Lockn out of respect to them and then go behind the back and pull a fast one. I don't know, the letter to me just sounded like somebody was butthurt and hoping the media would pick it up for them to get sympathy and UVA to look like a villain.
Phil is sitting in with Midnight North (and maybe Twiddle) at Tumbledown. Listening to the stream right now (mixlr - Relaxandstream) and Midnight North is killing it. I've listened to them before but have never seen them. Loving it and looking forward to the late night set way more now.
Still trying to figure out a way to go to this. Might end up working one of the beer stations. If I do I'll let y'all know where to find me so you can come say hi
Finally got press confirmation, so I will be returning for the 4th year in a row! If anyone is coming in 1st thing Friday morning and would like to camp together, I'd be down, since it looks like I'm going by myself for the first time. No worries though, I've done Roo by myself a few times. Can't wait to see this new setup. Hopefully it'll make some of the logistics easier.

Is there any real reason to get there super early? Were thinking of leaving at 4am which puts us to the Farm around 1pmish.
Zero reason. Last year I was there at 8am and I sat at my campsite and drank for essentially 10 hours...it made my thursday a lot more sleepy than music-y

*Knock on wood* - It's appears we hit the jackpot on weather. Going to be 92 there today, 94 tomorrow, and rain on Wednesday. Calling for Thursday - Sunday to be sunny with a high of 82

Sure, I like that. But with four days of almost no sleep coming I can get there at 1, set up, and tailgate a few hours and get a couple hours of sleep before heading out.
At Peach, you have to be there early to get a good spot. Didn't know if there was any other reason to get there early because most people seemed to be saying they'd be there at sunrise on the Lockn boards.
I'll be around all weekend if anyone wants to meet up. I've never been to a fest with the guy I am going with so should be in an interesting weekend.
