Im down to try discord. I need some way of contacting you guys outside of inforoo for easier meeting up anyway. Discord seems like a good option with text and voice.
Haven't been playing my Switch/Zelda a whole lot the last few weeks... Dragon Quest VIII and Persona 5 have had me pretty well distracted. However, right before my break I FINALLY sought out and beat my first of the four Guardians, Van Ruta I believe. I must be an idiot, but that boss fight was frustrating for a compound of reasons; I didn't know how I was supposed to attack the ice blocks that came up behind me, which resulted in me using bows on it, which resulted in a quick depletion of normal arrows... so on to farming for more arrows I went. That took me close to four hours to get my arrow count up to where I wanted, and I didn't want to spend any rupees. I think that's what caused me to put down the game for a bit. That said, BOTW is one of the best games I've played in the past decade, I can say this safely only being at most 15% through the game. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games I stretch out, like how I've still never finished "Alundra" on PS1 even having played it back 20 years ago, just about. Freakin' A+.

I put 130 hours in and will still do another play through before the expansion. I loved it from start to finish.
Don't feel alone in that, one of my friends was complaining about how hard that boss was because of the ice blocks coming at you. Also complained how hard it was getting on to the divine beast because they were flying at him.
I just asked him why he didn't break it with his ice magic.
Anyone got a good character loadout? I've been using bowser Jr on the yoshi bike with the mercedes tires
I've been trying my hand at a lot of different playstyles, I like King boo on the beatle, with slick tires. Also Link with the master bike and the metal tires (still getting used to this one but he's fast as fuck)
Been having better luck with browser Jr in the bowser kart thing (the one he flies around in) with the slicks.
I just put in an hour on the elliptical playing mk and nearly cleared out all the rest of the 100cc races 3 starred.
I don't think i could do the 150cc races on it, but I could see me getting cardio in with the switch a thing. As ridiculous as I probably look in the gym.
I'm coming to the conclusion that 150cc and up is just luck. I've got a single 3 starred circuit on 150cc. I've been half a lap ahead of everyone else in the 3rd lap and been with with a barrage of items, enough to come in second.
Is the strategy to stay with the pack until the 3rd lap or what?

Single player can largely be a crapshoot. There may be some strategies, but overall I've usually had to retry some cups on 150cc a few times due to some hijinks.

I did the same thing. I did figure out the crynosis trick, but I used up almost all my arrows first.
I managed to nab the new Amazon exclusive amiibo for Zelda... but those Best Buy exclusives and GameStop exclusives for Zelda were almost impossible to get. Nintendo is really pushing up demand while limiting supply on those little devils.
Hopefully, the BotW new amiibos will be easier to get this Fall.

I'm sure they will be, especially when everyones too busy trying to get one of the 15 or 16 SNES Classics they make.
Anyone playing Arms? I may go pick it up this weekend.
I really enjoyed the beta test and bought it but I've honestly only played it once since I bought it. It's not a game I enjoy alone but it's for great couch multiplayer. Price is steep though.

Yeah, bummed it off a friend at work over the weekend. I enjoyed it. GF is starting nursing school in August so if she starts having people show up more often I'll probably grab it as a party game. Between finding a house in Galveston/Roo/work I haven't had much game time to put in though. Still haven't even checked out the Zelda DLC.
EDIT: Anyone started a second Zelda playthrough on hard. Do you you have to make a second account on the switch to not overwrite your first save?
Mario and Rabbids is a true gem. Such a fun game. Still playing a lot of Splatoon. Anyone else?
Still never got it. Just busy. Been trying to get through all the sword trials on BoTW this last weekend. Schedules finally clearing up though, so I may actually grab it this weekend.
Mario/Rabbids looks fun as hell, I'll probably get it when the price drops. And yeah, I'm hoping to get the new Mario pretty much as soon as it drops... haven't bought and played a new Mario game extensively since the first Galaxy, I got the second one for my niece and only got to play it for a little bit, but this new one looks better than those (and Galaxy was one of my favorite games of the decade, back then).
Skyrim on the Switch looks like about what you'd expect, which to me is great... but I don't know if I want to quadruple dip on the title just yet. Also, very interested in how Doom will run.
IT'S GREAT. Unless someone absolutely hates XCOM game play (which I've never played before this game) this is nearly a must own for Switch players. It is a great hand held game, the sound track is perfect, the leveling up system is fun and simple, and the worlds are pretty great to explore. I'm actually motivated to get all the extras and %100 this which isn't usually my thing. It's not a Nintendo game but god it feels like Nintendo game.
8/10
Make the Nintendo Switch Thread great again
