I could justify $65 for a hoodie. I paid nearly $100 for a hoodie from Ghostly International, but damn if it isn't the best made hoodie I have ever owned. Its practically made of carbon fiber.
It would appear that all drinks were free for VIP this year, which makes me regret not upgrading on Friday. Hopefully the same applies for 2018.
Shit was hit hard at night though. It was great for early day and afternoon drinking but once Night got rolling it was either wait in line and miss 10 minutes of the next shit or suck it up and go to the pay bars. We didn't pay for our upgrades, but if they were 250 or under, it's probably a decent deal to go along with the red and green stage access. I forgot to get mine, but they also hadn't Fannie Packs :Rich Chigga: with the black tshirt with the red sphere and a couple of stickers in it.
We were walking up to the Green stage and saw her on the screen wearing a see-through top - piercings very visible. By the time we got to the sound booth (a much much smaller crowd than I expected), she bailed out to the backstage - it was ten minutes after the set time start. We waited through generic DJ-hype nonsense to see if she'd return, but after 15 minutes, we bailed to the indoors. Fast forward to about 7 minutes left in her set, we went back out and found a huuuge crowd all into it. Just in time for Bodak. She now donned a pretty festive long plaid jacket. And proceeded to twerk in it with her fellow dancers. Interesting book-ends to that set. Plenty more to share later on.
Ha you guys that naked chik was Hoodcelebrity. Cardi B's bitch ass didn't come out on stage until 10min before her set ended. Her fucking DJ literally sat there playing hype tracks for an hour. Cardi came out, did 2 random songs, did Bodak Yellow, complained that it was cold, and went home.
well now don't I have fried egg on my face. I'll say my glasses were fogged up. Got lucky to see both with the right timing!
The day after NIN performed, *Omar Afra posted that* Trent Reznor asked to be loaded up with D4N merch. I'm sure he got several of those snazzy windbreakers.
The weather cutting the show short was a bummer, but it was fun while it lasted. They should try to get Trent back with Atticus Ross to perform some "Ghosts" tracks on the Blue Stage - weather wouldn't cut that short! Bring Brian Eno while your at it.
After getting so soaked from the rain, we hustled for cover along with everyone else. I was curious how the Green Stage area looked, and to my shock, Tyler was still going with what seemed like a chill sermon in the storm. I saw him thank Houston and call it a night to the dedicated crowd that was still braving the downpour. After he shut down, we were deciding what our next plan of action would be and wringing out the water from our clothes. We were starving and went all the way back to see if anyone was open in the food court - luckily Muiishi Makirritos was still open (had them in 2015 and 2016 - they never fail. Pricey but so good.) We brought our food inside and hung out by the color-changing syranwrapped VIP area. Our soaked shoes and socks were unbearable. I knew I shoulda packed a spare pair!
We walked up to the merch table, where I saw the photo-luminescents were sold out to my disappointment. I asked "anybody selling any socks!?" The lady shook her head shamefully. "You guys would have made a killing!" I'll put it in the suggestion box for next year.

I'd buy DfN socks. My gf went on a quest to find gloves and a scarf, lucked out with the toyota free scarves and then found gloves from another vendor by the green stage. they should definitely sell licensed winter merch.
He's a fucking clown but entertaining. I can do without the fake feuds and all that shit, but he's pretty good. And if you ever read the lyrics to his shit, some of it is extremely funny. Even in part of the song you quoted, Suck my **** ho, you have the elegantly worded:
"Bitch I look like Ben and Jerry" "Yo bitch look nasty, she look like James Posey" "hoes on my d*** because I'm white like Asher Roth"

Vacation days will be limited after using them for my planned trips next year, but am very thankful I would only have to take a day off for Day for Night. Barring any emergencies, definitely making it next year.
didn't they send out targeted or random invitations for presales? i never received an invitation.
my plan is to wait for another 40% off once we get close to the festival next year. but then i plan to abandon that plan when the lineup is released, because i get excited and then worried that it will sell out, then buy a ticket at full price.

If they did no one on here or that I know IRL got one.
I was presale as well and never got anything from them. I'm assuming they'll put something out down the road. In the meantime, for anyone who wanted one of the Nine Inch Nails posters that didn't get one at the festival, it appears from D4N's Facebook that some just became available at 3:00pm today.
#NineInchNails rare artist edition screen print by Jermaine Rogers are available soon. #screenprinted on 24x18 in. rich Stardream Opal gallery stock, from a signed and numbered limited edition of only 80 pieces. This edition and some very rare variants, finally available (1st come / 1st served) this Friday, Jan. 5th at 3pm est on www.JermaineRogers.com #jermainerogers
There's a "working persons" smaller batch that goes up at like five for people who can't buy at work. Pretty sweet of him but yeah, they went on sale at 3 done by 3:04, 140 prints. I think there are 30 for the next batch so you've got to be quick

It kills me this fest always comes up after I've already requested all my vacation days for the year. the timing kills me. I keep saying I'll same some jic, but it's jan and looking at my plans for the year it's already doubtful ill have any left. shit.

No way there aren’t flights to Houston where you could fly in cheap Friday night or Saturday am from Orlando and then fly back a red eye Monday am and not miss shit - or if you plan to kick it hard, all you’d need to take off is Monday. Friday is okay but seemed unnecessary to me in order to have a good time. It would have been different if all the art installations were available or if there was a can’t miss show or lecture.
Festival runs like 12:40-2am, and other than the hour time difference, it can’t possibly more than 21/2 hours flight time.
I’m confident that the lineup will be unique for the world, and I’m also confident enough to buy 5 blind presales when they go up.

So the Club Quarters Inn isnt taking reservations yet for next year, but I booked at Hyatt Regency downtown for $400 for 3 nights, free cancellation and no deposit on Booking.com. Much nicer than Club Quarters, for only a little bit more in cost, and quick and cheap Uber ride distance from the fest.

Haven't you heard? They have more money than God.
I think there's a chance they're not doing a presale because it's less necessary than in previous years, whether they're more confident that people like us that bought presale will buy the regular sale, or they don't need the injection of cash, whatever it may be.

Completely agree that it's probably one of those.
I recall a few people say they did send out some really exclusive pre-sale to only a certain number of people, but have never seen any actual evidence of that.
They hit 20k in attendance last year. I feel pretty confident that was somewhat profitable and garnered enough positive press and reviews to convince whomever is investing in this to continue.
