Perfect. OK, next question. How many stages do we think they'll have this year? I'm going with five, based on total number of acts. The two main stages are alternating side by side, right? How is the layout for the rest of the festival? It seems like a pretty small space.

I've gone both years its been in Douglas Park and the layout hasn't been consistent. There's a hospital in the area so all the stages have to face pretty much the same direction which makes it kinda goofy. The only way to get to the food tents last year was to pass between a sound booth and a hill people were trying to watch the show from, so things got congested. I liked the stage set up itself a little better than the year prior because there was only one set of 2 stages that alternated with 2 more larger stages going by their own schedule. But I'm thinking there will be one less stage this year due to fewer acts, but it may be just one less smaller stage.

I finally looked at the day by days after avoiding it for a bit. Sunday plays out perfectly for me with Jawbreaker, Cap'n Jazz, Beach Slang, Downtown Boys and Culture Abuse all playing that day. I'm gonna have to do some real soul searching about this one.

Tickets bought, flight & lodging booked, ready to go! Now my #1 concern is how to efficiently pack my backpack so it's 100% cool to go straight from RiotFest back to Chicago Midway on Sunday evening. Also hoping I can catch some of M.I.A. before I leave.
Looks like from the videos on youtube it's going to be a pretty stripped down show visually which makes sense. Given the size and make up of Riot Fest's stages, I figured we wouldn't be getting some crazy production. Hopefully they come back to Chicago next year with the usual elaborate set up.
This schedule is brutal for me, but it may just be that I really like this lineup. The Hotelier vs. Buzzcocks, Cap'N Jazz vs. Menzingers vs. Built to Spill, TV on the Radio vs. Dinosaur Jr and Jawbreaker vs. Andrew WK. Not to mention that I won't see any sets with my wife after like 5pm on Saturday haha.
I'm really surprised they're having Paramore conflict partially with Jawbreaker. I think they'll draw a huge crowd despite the typical punk audience that goes to this, which could deflate the size of Jawbreaker's crowd at the beginning of the set.
And I'll be the 4th person to say Cap'n Jazz vs. Menzingers vs. Built to Spill vs. Flatliners is a real head scratcher, especially looking at the next two hours. Flipping Menzingers and Minus the Bear would have made sense.

Most of these...that Sunday schedule is fucking killing me. My biggest issues are as follows: Friday: Ministry vs. Dirty Heads
Saturday: Black Pistol Fire vs Fishbone FIDLAR vs Bad Brains At the Drive In vs Wu-Tang which overlaps with Queens of the Stone Age which conflicts with Taking Back Sunday
Sunday (the worst conflicts): Pennywise vs Minus the Bear which both overlap TV on the Radio Dinosaur Jr. vs. Best Coast and the overlap of TV on the Radio still Prophets of Rage vs. MIA vs. GWAR all overlapping Jawbreaker which is in conflict with Andrew WK
I have never seen Ministry and have been trying to see Dirty Heads, but Ministry is definitely the choice here. I have seen Fishbone a bunch so will probably do Black Pistol Fire. Just saw At the Drive-In, so will see Wu-Tang and go to Queens of the Stone Age late since I have seen QOTSA once before TV on the Radio is legit one of my all time favorite bands and I have seen them probably at least 5 times, but I don't want to miss them. I'll probably see Minus the Bear since I am not a huge Pennywise fan. I just saw Best Coast not too long ago, and I saw Dinosaur Jr in the 90s and they tour all the time, so I might just say fuck it since Jeremy has never seen TVotR. Prophets of Rage vs. MIA is fucking killing me. I want to see both so I might have to split the set.

This makes me so sad!!
TVOTR is getting the shaft. I may split them and Dino Jr. Prophets vs. MIA is rough, but I am doing Prophets.
On a side note, Cockney Rejects were also taken off.

I was thrilled when the 12 acts I want to see were spread evenly across each of the three days but now am hating life since each day all 4 are squeezed into a 3 hour window overlapping and conflicting with one another. Hopefully with getting earlier announce on this some things can get shifted around a little bit, otherwise fml.

They still haven't announced after shows, so that could clear up any conflicts.
Not toooooo bad... I was prepared for the Bad Brains vs. FIDLAR conflict. Will probably pick BB since its their 40th anniversary and I haven't seen them since Roo 2012. Just saw FIDLAR last year and IDK if they are playing anything new. What I wasn't prepared for was Streetlight Manifesto vs. Queens of the Stone Age. I know I'll have to see QOTSA, but I was stoked for a post victory Streetlight show (even though I've seen them 4 times already)
