as has already been stated, this is coming way too late, but bonnaroo does everything too late (except late nights oooooohhhhhhh burn). still it's a good move, and the optimist in me hopes for better electronic bookings in the future. i am curious about bleed though, given the Kalliope bleed it could be horrendous.
Best act getting the opportunity to perform on a brand new stage, with a production value way better than if he were to play in a tent (like most were expecting).. I am sure he weeps.

Is it actually a new/different stage? I haven't read much about this yet. I figured it was just similar to how they turn one tent into the bluegrass tent for sundays.

Brand new. Ditching the tent entirely. Unsure if it is even in the same spot that The Other Tent used to be.

They specifically said it's an open-air stage so I think it's safe to assume that the tent will be going away. I could see them doing something similar to the Perry's at Lolla. I doubt it'll have a shade cover because it won't begin till 5pm or 6pm each night.
I'm actually pretty excited for this. It will be cool to see the new effects for the acts I like and it will keep any bad crowds away from the rest of the stages/tents.
I'm sad to see one of my favorite tents go. I've seen some of my favorite sets each year there (Lotus, HAIM, and Ozomatli immediately come to mind)! But if it gives the EDM crowd somewhere to largely congregate I guess that's a positive.

That Ozomatli set was good.
Also remember seeing The Civil Wars, Trampled by Turtles, and Gwar over there.

Bonnaroo has been wayyy late to the electronic game. They tried in 2010 (my first year) with the Lunar Stage and seemingly gave up after that. A few years ago, I think they realized they needed to do more, which brought Kalliope. It was a cool idea, but it didn't translate well for Bonnaroo. The location was a cluster fuck, they didn't release a schedule and it quickly became a reason to have no other late night options. This is a great solution to what's been a long-term problem. Now if they can find someone more adept at booking quality EDM.

Nothing will ever top Daryl Hall + Chromeo Late Night.
As much as we didn't like it here, the Kalliope was extremely popular.
I always said that the Kalliope would have been fine if they had just put it at the back of the What Stage field, angled it away from all the other music and just turned it on after the headliners. But we know nothing here.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

HAIM was in That.
That's what I thought. I wasn't sure if there was a third year in there that I had forgotten about.
