Major Lazer was the only EDM act I saw and they weren't even on The Other (and they were just OK, nothing amazing). I felt sorry for afternoon acts on The Other trying to get folks to get hype in the blazing sun.

Anybody else feel like the sound was really quiet on The Other? I tried being next to the sound board on the left and right sides for different shows and my girlfriend and I could whisper to each other and still hear ourselves. During San holo, the entire left side of the crowd was chanting "louder! Louder!" I thought the stage was really great and it was awesome during sunset, but it was hard to get into a show at times because of the sound.

Yep the sound was way way to quite for an edm stage. Kalliope was a 10th of the size and had a better sound system. I also agree about the blazing sun comment. I just watch during the day under a tree. I don't understand why they made it a stage and not a tent to at least give some shade.

And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

Skepta kept mentioning that the stage was too quiet as well.
It also has to be noted that this was not an acceptable replacement for kalliope in the eyes of edm kids. There was absolutely nothing to do after 3am this year. Kalliope would have been going all night. The lines were too long for the xmas barn and silent disco so people just retreated to the campgrounds even when they had more gas in the tank.

There were DJ sets at The Grind every night till 6am-ish. Not sure who played but I know G Jones did a surprise set there.

We went to the grind several times Saturday night (since it's right next to groop camping) and every time we went there was nothing really going on. There was music and a DJ, but everyone was just sorta hanging out and talking, so it didn't feel like a "late night" thing.

Yeah they should've done a Sahara like tent and just made it larger if they were intending only to allow for larger audiences.

Only went there after 3am each night and they had about 100-200 people there both nights.

I enjoyed The Other overall as a new experience. I imagine they'll eventually add some sort of canopy or shade cover if they make it permanent. I didn't think there were any sound issues at the shows I attended. Did notice during day sets i was at they were spraying plenty of water over the crowd. Not that it made a difference.

100-200 person capacity barn in the campgrounds that was not marketed as a late edm option is also not a real kalliope replacement imo. And I hated kalliope and all of its sound bleed
