It's a microcosm of Inforoo: the only Bonnaroos worth discussing are in the past, not the future.
I'm not necessarily a fan of the change from a music standpoint. But I'm hopeful that the extra production finally makes Roo up their game production-wise. Their stages/tents have been stagnant for years now. Big screens at the What stage should be standard. I'm looking for more over the top production from Roo in future years. Roo needs to be half Tomorrow land/half Coachella if they want to continue booking less than desirable lineups. If I have to see Marshmellow at least give me a top notch light show. I want to see the other in action before I throw stones at it. My expectations is that it is Perry's Lolla stage- Bonnafied. Lots of lights, very little artistry. If it sucks at least the riff-raff is in the far corner and I have 4 stages/tents to choose from.
the curiosity of what it will look like is very strong for me. how big will they go is kind of the question.

I don't think we'll see a themed stage ala Mysterland, Tomorrowland, EDC, etc, but something along the lines of Perry's/Sahara will be more appropriate. The big question is, will this be a truly open air stage or similar to the Sahara with a roof/dome/tent. Bonnaroo probably has the most intense weather out of any US fest and creating an open air EDM stage during the day when the sun is dangerously hot could be a recipe for disaster among the molly munchers.
Has this been asked before?......Do we think they will try to move the Silent Disco back over to this new Other stage/area? Would make some sense and would get it out of the Which field where it doesn't really fit.

I'd be surprised if the stage was active before 6pm - Bonnaroo doesn't want people dying out there

yea i'm not expecting a themed stage either. if they don't start music on the stage until 5ish as some have guessed then it might not be too bad to be open air. but yea perry's or sahara, which will we get and will it be as big as those. i'm personally really excited to see what they do with it. also makes for a great thursday night stage instead of just tents

I like it if only it seems to be a gateway to them opening up at least the Which on Thursdays - which I think we've all been clamoring for for a while. The tents are definitely an overcrowded mess on Thursday.

I think the Silent Disco was moved last year due to the low attendance and trying to reduce the Centeroo footprint. If the rumors are true that they're on track for 70-80k people this year then they will most definitely have to move the Silent Disco to either its previous location by the Comedy tent/Cinema or over to where Kalliope used to be.

They are not even going to hit 70.
Ok! I'm just going off what the pizza guy posted in the vendor thread ha.

Not really, some guy that's a vendor popped into a thread on the main board and mentioned he was told by LN between 70-80k for this year.
Uh, yeah. I'm aware of that post and thread. Launchpad McQuack said that attendance won't even crack 70k, and he's been known to know a thing or two in the past.

Thus the question of scoops.
Try and keep up.
He said "Not really". I'm sure he's tryin' to keep up, but some people aren't spendin' as much time on the board as others.

Yes, I can read (and actually spell despite "typin' like I talk"). And compared to 2008-10, I spend a hell of a lot less time on Inforoo than I used to. Y'know, life happenin' and all that.
I love how this thread has turned into a post mortem for the Other Tent.

Yeah, because Bonnaroo catering to an audience that can just about literally go see the same artists of that genre for a huge discount, not have to camp in Manchester, TN, take additional time off work or deal with any of the other issues that come with Roo isn't worth discussion. It's just stupid.
I mean this subpar festival pretty much has the Roo Other stage lineup covered. You're not gonna draw anyone interested in those acts away with a "better" stage.

I think one of the biggest takeaways from the schedule release is that The Other Stage is going to be quite large. You'd have to think that since there are unopposed shows each night that the stage will be large enough to fit the majority of all the festival goers. By no means is this stage going to be the size of What but I'm fairly sure it will be as big, if not bigger, than Which. I could be giving livenation too much credit here by assuming that they'd plan for this massive late night crowd so I could be wrong still. Do any of you have any other thoughts about The Other Stage now that the schedule is out?
As someone fairly indifferent to EDM and disappointed with the way bonnaroo has gone.......
I'm dying to see this new stage. I'll laugh my ass off if there are a bunch of video screens after the years of us begging for them at the tents
you know there are screens at the tents now, right?
Yeah, not in very good locations, but people had been begging for those for a long time... When did they get them, 2015? I think it was the most asked for thing every year since I started going in 2010
The Other is either going to be a great success or epic fail. Don't think there will be any middle ground on this. Bonnaroo has rolled the dice on this one. Hopefully, snake eyes won't be the result. Seems to be a LOT of $ spent on this new setup on The Other.

I've seen Barclay Crenshaw at the stage and it was pretty good. I walked by Marshmello on my way to Umphreys and it was very much like Perry's. Marshmello is just absolute shit.

Marshmello was sort of fun at first. I stopped by one of his sets for about 10 minutes last year and left thinking it was pretty okay, but now that he's 3rd line at Bonnaroo and his videos get half a billion views on YouTube, it's over. This ship has sailed.
