You guys are right re: boutique bookings. The flooded market has made those special moments far less to come by. Which is why many of us geek out or value one festival over another when a rare act we love is finally booked. This festival at least tries to include a handful of those acts each day, which is has a lot to do with why it's kept face.

I need Radiohead back here just on the hope that I'll get to see "There There" live. They didn't play it when I saw them at MSG last year, which was the only negative in an otherwise mind-melting show.
Does RH usually use Live Nation to book in the NYC area?
Was listening to Bjork's "Post" the other day with the wife and remembering her set from 2015. That was a great example of a "Botique" Gov Ball booking and, even with the thin crowd, was still a killer set. I imagine half the audience was just trying to get a good spot for Deadmau5 later.

Totally. It didn't help that she didn't play the hits in terms of drawing the crowd, but man, did I love that show. My fiancee and I still talk about it, two years later.

The Gov Ball account just retweeted a video of Frank performing... given his Pano turnout he seems like a pretty logical choice. Hopefully that means he's in play for other NA fests next summer!

Also, Chappelle brought out Kendrick. Along with Donnell Rawlings and one of the co-creators from the Chappelle Show. Catch one before his residency is up. A+ from start to finish.

Had to put this somewhere haha
Totally agree... that was great. Kendrick seemed less into it than his Barlcay's shows though (understandably)... Next two (chance and gambino) should be great
Especially when he let "HUMBLE" run at "my left stroke just went viral." And people were walking out! I couldn't believe that shit. Ugh. Still super hyped regardless. Tried to catch Gambino again but after months of not knowing and even after catching a Barclays show, this was more than worth the price of admission. I'M RICH BIAAAATCH

I was actually shocked at how many people left once Chappelle was off... and then lots of people expecting Eddie Murphy left right when Kendrick got on... crazy but yeah that was great

Hmmm if you could only go to one; would you rather go to Chapelle with Gambino; or catch Kendrick's Damn tour?

Oooh. Pre-Gov Ball I would've for sure said Kendrick, but I'd have to go Chappelle x Gambino. Gambino converted me the night he played. I was always a Donald Glover fan, and Awaken was incredible, but never really gave his earlier stuff a shot. What a mistake. I knew he was talented, I just didn't know how talented he was musically; what an artist across the board

Nice. Yeah I was trying to decide if I should check out Chapelle on Saturday or Kendrick next Friday... But I actually forgot I already had plans Saturday, so Kendrick it is.

If you're doing Kendrick, I'd recommend trying to catch Chappelle x Mayer if possible. Seems like they have some real chemistry, and The Search For Everything Tour was incredible. Live, neither has skipped a beat
Arcade Fire seems likely for this. Only have 1 area date this fall (as opposed to three on the last tour) and it was booked by Live Nation (not Bowery Presents)

I love that the AF MSG date is 3 days before Meadows. Using that week as a staycation.

That week is one of the craziest weeks for NYC shows since I've moved here.

Didn't realize Waters was that week. I should start trying to find a ticket to that. Thanks.
Edit: To add to your list; Norah Jones, Kasabian, James Blake, Danzig, and Talib Kweli are all that week too. Crazy week indeed.
