New 10-day Goldenvoice festival in London that's set to feature stand alone shows the weekend of Gov Ball. First one announced for June 2nd featuring The National, The War On Drugs, Future Islands, Warpaint, and The Districts

None of those bands strike me as Gov Ball type acts anyways (even though Future Islands and War On Drugs played in 2015). I can see TWOD doing Panorama or maybe a Brooklyn Steel residency.

The Districts also played in 2015 and Warpaint played this year. Not sure what you're talking about... Gov Ball has always had pretty strong indie rock representation

Yeah, true. I guess I just keep running every band through my perceived filter of a 16-24 year old and stuff like The War On Drugs and The National make ZERO sense for that crowd. Then again, they DID book Tool as one of the headliners this year but seeing as that is the one day that didn't sell out, don't think the aging alt-rock/indie rock will be a priority this year.
Brockhampton just announced 2 shows at Irving Plaza in Feb. presented by Gov Ball
Maybe I’m being judgmental but if I were a gambling man I’d say this is an odd future round 2 type deal right?
Yes but they're much better than Odd Future was when they came out. That's coming from someone who was a huge fan of Odd Future (still a fan of Tyler,Earl, Frank ect)
I don't see the hype in Brockhampton. To me it just seems like their riding off the success of a pretty popular sound. You can do a lot worse but I don't see them as the second coming of Christ by any means.

Just another group getting by on aesthetic and the talents of one member. Teens eat that shit up.
Are we talking about the same group here? In a world full of rappers like Lil Pump, Lil Xan, Lil Peep, and XXXTentacion....Brockhampton is pretty refreshing.

You can always ignore that world and listen to the better stuff that's out there.
I enjoy Brockhampton, but also don't quite get the huge amount of praise they receive.

I thought that through the first Saturation but the second one won me over. Personally if I was hoping for a rap collective I'd ask for Shredders (part of Doomtree) or all of Doomtree. Shredders is opening for RTJ in December and put out a really good Few sinbles

I also liked Saturation II more than I, but I still haven't found myself going back to it nearly as much as I've gone back to Tyler, Vince Staples, Open Mike Eagle, and Joey Badass

I'll have to check out Shredders
This. SZA, Tyler, and Vince owned the summer for me
I doubt they do another North American tour for AMSP. More likely than not hitting up south america
Ah, I heard they were doing a bit of touring next year, maybe a one off? I mean, I dunno. I just have no idea what band could play this besides AM.
Arcade Fire Pearl Jam Paul McCartney (not really a "band" I guess) Vampire Weekend Coldplay - aka the rich man's Radiohead Nine Inch Nails maybe Gorillaz could probably swing back around if they're not busy Depeche Mode Muse The Killers Mumford Metallica Twenty One Pilots

The Cure. Is QotSA out? I could see them, Smashing Pumpkins OG Lineup, or Yeah Yeah Yeahs in that Beck spot. Jack White. I feel like we are missing some
Am I crazy or *whispers* is Live Nation not the insane influence on this lineup some people make it out to be
No I'd agree for the most part. The bigger danger is Goldenvoice's influence on certain artists. Like I'd guess Yeah Yeah Yeahs are more likely for Panorama

True, especially since they can offer the Coachella, FYF, Pano trifecta. Wouldn't be surprised to see Pano grab the YYYs, and also wouldn't be surprised to see Founders pull Vampire Weekend again. I think Founders does a really good job of NY-area representation on their lineups and though they do love their repeat artists, the timelines they bring them back on aren't crazy

As glad as I am that I got to see them because of this, they did bring the strokes back too soon. I’m not complaining because it was incredible and I’d waited years to see them but had I gone in 14 I would be a little miffed
