I don’t think I’ll ever feel the need to buy a three day pass to gov ball again. They found their market and it isn’t me judging by these clues.
I just keep thinking back to the 2014 and 2015 lineups and wondering, "How did we get here?"
I dunno. I make a lot of noise about feeling old and out of touch, but then again, I had a blast with the lineup at 2017 GovBall, so I guess we'll see. A lot of it's going to ride on the top two to three lines of each day, for me.
Also, if they did somehow manage to achieve something they've been trying to achieve forever and book Pearl Jam, all bets are off.
Primavera moved dates to the same weekend and AEG tried to run them out of business and split the talent pool... Theyve still done a hell of a job if you ask me. 2016 and 17 were pretty great lineups. But I agree not as great as 14/15.

i went for Tool, Warpaint, and Avalanches last year, I’m sure I’ll do the same for one of the days. The fest sells fine with or without me. I know the line up won’t be good “for me” but that’s the imperative wording.

Personally I loved 2016's lineup. It was Kanye and like 80% alternative rock which was awesome and it sold out really quick. Which is why it's surprising that they now seem very thirsty for Top 40 garbage. But it's still way too early to make any judgements. Book Pearl Jam or Radiohead and I'll shut up.
Yeah idk how you guys are complaining about the last two lineups. 2016’s biggest issue was they got a great headliner that hardly ever plays for the second time in a short period of time and they vastly improved their show. Also there was a run of FJM > Beck > Jamie xx > Strokes

I really hope that the Tool day not selling out last year isn't what will make them abandon rock a bit. I know I'm in the minority here at inforoo but I truly think the majority of people under 25/30 didn't know who Tool was because they've never been on streaming sites and have never had radio presence. It was a weird booking for Gov Ball.
I actually think the lineups for 2016 and 2017 were better than Bonnaroo for my personal tastes.
If only Sunday wasn't cancelled in 2016...that was the biggest misadventure of my life trying to get into Prophets of Rage, then Courtney Barnett, then Two Door Cinema Club and not making it in to any of them.
So we have (1) possibly Maggie Rogers (2) 2 Chainz/Travis Scott (3) possibly YYY's/Khalid from the map clue (4) Khalid/SZA from the Grammy's (5) BROCKHAMPTON presented by GB (6) POND presented by GB (7) Cuco presented by GB (8) Quinn XCII presented by GB whoever the hell he is (7) 6lack (8) Cut Copy (9) Kesha/Major Lazer (10) Gaslight Anthem (11) Halsey. I'm not jumping on the presale but I'm optimistic off what they've given us (so far)
Wow, that Brian Fallon clue is interesting. His solo tour goes into early May, so I think it would be very odd to do a Gaslight show so soon. Almost certainly Brian solo, but I'm sure he's not too please about teasing his solo act with a Gaslight lyric.

Having some "Am I getting too old or are they really that weak?" reflection on Hangout and Okee. I still think Lolla South America is great, though, so still hopeful for fest bills this year.

I doubt he gives a shit or is even aware of the clues.

2016 Sunday was going to be such a dope day of music. Vince Staples, Chvrches, Two door cinema club, Prophets of Rage, Kanye all in one day

It'd be lame on both sides. It would annoy him because everyone would be asking about some misleading clue hinting at Gaslight while he's trying to get people to enjoy his solo work. And it would be crappy to get the hopes up for big Gaslight Anthem fans.
I bet you that clue is GA. I don't know the exact rules of the radius clause but I've never heard someone playing a show a month before the fest.

The xx (and obv Jaime) only have overseas dates scheduled. They're at All Points East the week before Gov Ball and then back in Europe for fests in July.
I suppose they could come back to the states in June to do Gov Ball, Firefly, etc....but idk seems unlikely considering they aren't from the US.
